Coogs need a decent showing from the defense this week to secure the victory. It would be nice to see a Big Ed sack fumble returned for a TD.

I really think D-King is going to give that Zona D all they can handle. Go Coogs!

If Sumlin doesn't find a way to unleash Khalil Tate this week, he's done. Against BYU, Tate looked like a defeated player with none of the incredible dynamism from last year.

I've never been a Kevin Sumlin fan. Ever. But the ONE thing I give him credit for is maximizing the effectiveness of great QB play. He's proven that at UH and A&M. Khalil Tate is a better college QB than Keenum or Manzel and watching last week's failure blew my mind. If Sumlin's QBs don't play great, his teams have no chance to succeed.

IMO, either Khalil Tate is going to erupt on UH or Arizona's season is over after 2 games.

Honestly, I don't think Sumlin did prove his ability to maximize effectiveness of QBs. It seems like his QBs were only good when Kingsbury was OC. After Kingsbury left, TAMU's offenses started dying.

I was excited about seeing my Wildcats in person but after the BYU game, the wind has been taken out of my sail but I might still get tickets.

I've never been to a UH game. Any general recommendations? I heard the sun can be tough but looks like the clouds might help.

You are even more optimistic than me. I just hope we come out ready to play and the first half of last weeks game was an anomaly and not something that we continue to see. We definitely need to win this game for a variety of reasons. It is not a game we have to win but if we do not win we can forget about cracking the top 25 and it will cast a lot of additional doubt over Applewhite and his coaching staff.

I agree...I'm leaning toward anomaly. They need to come out of the gates fast.

Khalil Tate just needs to be forced to pass. All else will be fine.

I believe this Cougar team can over come a slow start. The offense should be fine at home vs. Zona. That humidity will be a late game factor along with the body clock 9am start for a bunch of college kids. By mid 3rd they will hit a wall that UH won't feel. That said if Coogs start fast I can see a +20 point win that we coast in the 4th on.

UH will show much more improvement just on the fact this is the 2nd game and it's in the Cage.

I have been watching the odds on this game because most of the time this is a pretty good indication of what is going to happen. What I don't understand is that even though Houston currently is favored by 3.5 points according to ESPN's power matchup indicator Arizona has a 54% chance of winning the game. How can this be possible?

I didn't know they had hired Kendal Briles for OC. That's disappointing.

Offense does look great, though. You can tell the defense feeds off of Oliver getting constantly double teamed.
