I really don't mind the Tilman is cheap jokes but I also appreciate variety. Average comedians will reuse the same joke over and over whereas a great comedian will add more to their arsenal.

His recent political sarcasm is often directed at Donald Trump because Trump the major problem like Tillman is the major problem for the Rockets.

That’s the problem. Tillman treats the rockets like a business and there are other owners that treat it like a hobby and prioritize winning over profits. That is why owners like Tilman don’t win championships.

He would not be here if he were an A-list or even C-list. We can all improve our jokes though. That is fine.

A good way to improve is dun take oneself too seriously. Laugh about ourselves.

Owner of shitty casinos, lower level billionaire, host of reality show designed to make him look good, incredibly thin-skinned and obsessive over media coverage, craves perception of winning while losing, brags about airplane purchase and construction of “yuge” structures.

He got tons of flaws, I am sure. Franchise is in his hands, there is not much we can do now.

The fact that you think it’s a joke is what’s funny.

You duck it now because we had crapped out of luck at the trade deadline. I think Tilman goes into the tax for Jamychal Green and Garrett Temple but that trade got butchered somehow. We didn't have the length to do what we wanted to last season so why not get below the tax line and go for it for the next 3 years now?

The beating a dead horse on these forums is tiresome. Like you said, must hurt to be this sad.

I tried to give this owner a chance but the dude is just full of $hit. Give me back Les any day of the week. I know CP is not on him but he needs to quit talking and do something.

In a situation where assets weren't very limited , I'd agree with you …. but the fact is that by ducking the tax at that point in time , they severely limited their ability to add anything of substance later.

Just imagine if they had not made that deal for Knight and the #1 for Shumpert …. and actually used last years MLE.

You'd have Knight's expiring contract to absorb salary in any future trades.

You'd have a player under contract for 2 more years at last years MLE number (they could have given this to House).

You'd have had a pick in last nights draft …. to use or trade.

Instead we're looking at losing Rivers , Faried , House , Shumpert and GG with nothing to replace them with but the taxpayer MLE and veteran minimum contracts. (Its last year with Ariza all over again - don't retain him , don't have assets to replace him).
While every deal we are discussing leads to shedding key pieces because that's the only way we can match any significant salary.

But hey , great …. they dodged the tax and put off the repeater that they could just as easily avoided later - after doing all you can to win with MVP.

Bottom line , look at the assets given up and what they got out of that …. and how it affects them going forward.

We'd be better off from a competitive standpoint not having made those cost cutting moves.
