Are we just gonna ignore the monster season that JR Smith is having?

Since Feb, been chucking at an extremely accurate clip and getting to the line too..suddenly one of the most dangerous SG/SF in the game. Funny how both him and Melo were on Denver but now their playing like steroided versions of themselves on the Knicks. JR Smith's breakthough makes the Knicks a serious contender IMO and my $100 bet on Miami to win everything looks a little shaky right now.

Glad to see him playing good basketball. Was shocked to see how efficient he has been when they showed his stats over the past month or so.

The only way the Knicks have any shot at beating Miami is if Jr Smith has a great series and they still could lose.

He has had better seasons in Denver

Meh, per 36 minute stats...in terms of actual production, its his most productive yet

Those stats say he has been more productive in Denver and that this is about a middle of the road year for him. At least from the offensive end.

Per possession stats say he had more productive offensive years in Denver too (though it is very close). His numbers certainly look better per possession than per 36 minutes.

No, we are not, since he is not having a monster season.

He is having a pretty good season and is a steal at that price but not his best season. His second best. Best would be 08.

They are not beating the Heat. People are totally overreacting... Kind of like when the Clippers had that 17-game streak.

I hardly see JR miss a shot nowadays. That 3 at the end of the game was crazy. Knicks are playing great.

So JR Smith is a 41% FG chucker, and you are impressed?

I'd be shocked if the Knicks even get thru Boston and then Indi to get to the Heat... would not be surprised at all to see them get bounced in the first round AGAIN...

Melo-Smith combo is still far, very far from the production of LBJ-Wade combo. In terms of offense they might be able to catch up but defensively, they are still far. Barring injury, it will still be very hard for Knicks to win against Miami even if you consider their supporting cast. They might be able to win 1 or 2 games but that's it. On paper, Miami is still a lot deeper than Knicks.

Knicks will most likely face Celtics in the PO. Despite the seeding position, I give 50/50. Celtics are the lions to Knicks the hyenas. If KG is healthy, you can bet he will try to unravel Carmelo and JR during games. We all know how Melo plays once he is unravelled.

Knicks are weak mentally and it will be their archillis.

it's the NYC effect. JR smith plays his game in nyc = "oh man he's so good". he plays same game in denver, and most people don't care. he's also not even actually having a monster season.

it's like if lin had his breakout in milwaukee it certainly wouldn't have been linsanity.

One of two 6th man of the year candidates, but I don't even give a crack about it. Crawford the other candidate..

Jack has a bigger impact for his team than the 2 you mentioned IMO. Scoring is not everything.
