    MarketWatch was a bit more negative about the job report:

    Um, gee... wouldn't that suggest that labor participation rate is... going up? Seemed that republicans used to talk a lot about labor participation rate...

    The Republicans control the house, the senate, the supreme court, the presidency, most of the governorship yet the participation rate is pretty much the same as it was under Obama. Why don't Americans want to work now that we have our glorious republican leadership?

    Ah yes, making sure that less people have health insurance and that people with anxiety don't game the system have always been major drivers of the economy. That's what brought us back from the great depression, you know.

    To tie this into the thread on the immigration bill the good jobs number is more evidence that immigration isn't hurting job opportunities for Americans.

    But... but if you allow poor English-speaking, low job skill workers into the country, 'mericuns won't have fair access to all the jobs these imeyegrants coming will be stealing... and welfare cheating too!

    At any rate, 1 million jobs isn't going to put much of a dent in the 42% unemployment rate.
