Odds are against Rick Adelman returning next season. His frustration is understandable.

The 64-year-old coach, who has been with the Rockets four seasons, did not come here to work for an underdog. He came here to coach a contender.

What word best describes the Rockets?

    Irrelevant.

Yeah I doubt Adelman would want to stick around for a rebuilding project, I wonder if Les would be interested in bringing back JVG?

I love how this Solomon dude can indirectly suggest we absorb salary all the while conceding the likelihood that this mix won't result in a playoff-caliber squad.

    Don't blame him.

Wouldn't mind having jvg back or even larry brown. LB likes working with young developing teams (I consider us to have more talent then the last team he coached which were the Bobcats lol).

    I value Soloman's opinion less than JCDenton's.

Wouldn't mind having a new coach..adelmans system just doesn't seem to be working with our squad..we need a more defensive coach..

Solomon is a tool BUT his article does have merit. Attendance is bad, the team is in flux and we don't have players that should be untouchable. What was Adelman's last rebuilding project? He is older and isn't in this for a 3-4 year plan.

If Adelman isn't willing to coach a rebuilding team what makes you guys think JVG is going to want to?

it's interesting that ever since t-mac left, everyone thought we'd be just fine but we've been irrelevant.

    hmm....

I'd say we were irrelevant even with t-mac. We still did not have all of the pieces to contend for a title (that is how I would define relevancy). The only time we weren't irrelevant is when Yao and t-mac were healthy together, and that wasn't much.

T-Mac left after Yao got injured. The was the beginning of our irrelevancy.

Solomon has absolutely zero insight into the NBA or the Rockets. In the absence of knowledge base, story finding, or writing ability, he continually stoops to writing insulting, and therefore semi-controversial, stories to induce readership. I don't even mind that he is frequently negative. I am just always amazed about how little information or insight I have gained after reading his articles. Frankly I cannot believe he is employed as a journalist.

Here is his great conclusions: the rockets are losing. the fans don't like losing. sometimes coaches don't like losing. also sometimes owners don't like losing. WOW that is some in-depth stuff.

Stuff that he said the was borderline Corky Thatcher material:
1 - Kevin Martin is not fun to watch. (probably one of the more dynamic scorers in the league.)
2 - Yao Ming is not a hall of famer. (debate his talent all you want, but he is absolutely a lock for the Hall of Fame)
3 - Rick Adelman does not want to coach the Rockets next year. (completely baseless and ridiculous comment. One only needs to look at Joe Paterno, Pat Riley, Bobby Bowden, Phil Jackson..... to know that coaches almost always want to keep coaching late into their careers)

CONCLUSION: DO NOT READ SOLOMON. CHRONICLE, PLEASE FIRE HIM!!
