My two cents: If you donate on a subscription basis, you should not see ads. If you still see ads, what's the reward for subscribing? I've contributed in the past, and was happy to - but I am not going to be a "supporting member" and still be inundated with ads.
Been here nearly 20 years. Love the folks here. But let's face facts: This isn't the fan site it was back in the day. I've no problem with that. David Hardisty has proven to be a really good fan reporter of our Rockets. Maybe it's because I've been kicked off here so many times? Not sure. But things have certainly changed. Mainly Ads. Anyone who has been here long enough knows that Dave was against it and only did them sporadically. That, again was fine. But now this is just as bad as going to one of those slideshows. Look. I'm a pariah in the Houston press. (cough, Jeff Balke...) That said, I just want good information. This site still provides great stuff. Hardisty is honestly one of my favorite Rockets reporters. I'd love to see him do the Astros & Texans. To the old hat? Yep. Wrong Forum. But this will get more views. To all others: I will always love this site; even when I inevitably get booted again.
