Wait, the post where I thought our draft grade that year was an A+? All I said was that it was an A+, I didn't even mention Ervin in that post, had no idea who he was same as most other people. However, I thought Will Fuller, Nick Martin, and Braxton Miller (I'm an OSU fan) were amazing picks and I thought Reader was a steal.. Not sure how thinking 4 of 7 picks being great and makes the whole thing an A+ warrants you calling me out for not thinking Ervin was good. But if you have nothing better to do with your day than look up ppl's old posts then have at it, I think I liked Brock at some point.... ew.

@How Sweet It Is! I wanted to include you in this response too.

Just to clarify, I was only talking about return game. Jacoby, Trindon, Demps, Ervin.. I never thought any of them were good in the return game, and I'm not sure how that falls on Kubiak entirely, especially when he went to both Baltimore and Denver although that might have been after those guys left and were good. Just clarifying that I only meant returning, not regular play.

Really like him. He's gonna be a good fit with Watson. Wouldn't be surprised if he starts week 1 instead of Braxton.

Braxton isn't a starter Wk 1 even if Coutee is a bust.

Right now the top 3 receivers are Hopkins/Fuller/Ellington. Braxton Miller is fighting for a roster spot, not fighting for a starting job.

They want an inside receiving threat; resign Ellington, draft Akin, Coutee, and Thomas. I hope they also have capable backups for the outside spots. If Fuller goes down, who replaces him on the outside? I think Coutee and Ellington are too small to line up wide.

What about Wendall Williams or that UDFA Vyncint kid(long shot)?

WW is not a Texan right now. I think Vyncint can play outside but he just said that the Texans told him they want him to play inside.

@donkeypunch Oops. I read that wrong. They do want him to back up Fuller/Hopkins

I thought Ellington was already signed? He was great- the Gerald Green of this team.

We did I believe. Hopefully he can stay relatively healthy.

While mainly playing the slot during his career.

Ellington is capable of playing outside.

He was just great- picked up off the trash heap. Jelled with the offense. Physical, too. Very cool story IMO.

I understood you. I don’t think it’s just me remembering jacobys explosion. The issue with him was catching the punt, exacerbated by Kubiak’s obsession with making sure special teams had his confidence. Pretty sure he was one of the better punt returners in the league. Certainly the best we’ve seen in NRG
