Holy ****! That's a lot of money, wonder how much is guaranteed?

How random, only 1.5 hours till NBA trade deadline. Surprised the Cavs didn't get him LOL

Kind of blows our deal with Osweiler out the door, I mean Jimmy seems like he's more capable at QB.. but holy smokes 5 years @ 137 million a year .. for 23 games played as proof he's able to perform. Hopefully this works better for the 49ers, guess they really had no choice.

Guess the Niners believe they've found their Tom Brady and won't be using any high draft picks on a QB.

I'm surprised he got that after such a small sample size. But good for him.

And Texans talked about drafting him but the GM gambled he'd be there in the 3rd round.

If I a non QB nfl player I would strike. I mean QBs get paid every one else gets CTE.

Meanwhile what are the Texans doing with their elite QB locked to a team-friendly deal for the next few years?

Some interesting QB $ % #s from Super Bowl winners:

Clarifying, these are the biggest cap QB hits for SB champs

(e.g. 2012 Matt Flynn —> Russell Wilson still on rookie deal)

Paying Watt and DHop and Clowney.

    And not paying OL.

    Those statistics are incredibly misleading.

Kyle Shananhan + Jimmy G is interesting for the next few years. They'll have to draft extra smart now

This is the new NFL. You sign a QB to a team crippling deal for 2-3 years and once it's over you either extend or cut bait.

The single greatest mistake RS/BOB made during their time here.

Not drafting this guy set back the franchise 5 years.

    What a waste

No it didn't. The guy has done NOTHING to earn that contract. His record is misleading.

So much stems from not drafting this guy, namely Brock.

WASTED 1) money 2) time and 3) draft picks (the HIGHEST picks)

His career game-total is limited, but he's no doubt done SOMETHING to earn his contract.

On the flipside, Deshaun has more upside and is way younger than Jimmy G and is not going to get paid $30 million dollars annually for a while.

True. I'd be much more confident though if health wasn't such an issue. Shine is all-world though. It was a Dream watching him.
