It's good that the DNC propaganda bot hasn't given up trying to spin Obamacare as if it was a good thing.

It was only a matter of time till the courts took down Obamacare. Hopefully now everyone can move on and look to find policies that will actually work.

Trump Administration Takes New Aim At Obamacare’s Pre-Existing Protections

The effort probably won’t succeed, but it could put health care back in the political debate.
    And the larger issue:

Translation: Since you aren't forcing everyone to buy, some people will choose not to buy and that makes it more expensive. Apparently not forcing everyone to buy a product is "sabotage" in the eyes of extremists.

They're also trying to fundamentally change how Medicare compensates doctors. This will not end well.

Sniffles? Cancer? Under Medicare Plan, Payments for Office Visits Would Be Same for Both

The Trump administration is proposing huge changes in the way Medicare pays doctors for the most common of all medical services, the office visit, offering physicians basically the same amount, regardless of a patient’s condition or the complexity of the services provided.
    ....
But critics say the proposal would underpay doctors who care for patients with the greatest medical needs and the most complicated ailments — and could discourage some physicians from taking Medicare patients. They also say it would increase the risk of erroneous and fraudulent payments because doctors would submit less information to document the services provided.

How does this make any sense? It’s almost as if someone is trying to destroy Medicare.

trumpcare plans starting to appear. They don't cover pre-existing conditions or charge way more for coverage and offer limited benefits.

Officials are promoting lower-cost, short-term health plans

Just a refresher for people who may have forgotten: covering pre-existing conditions is not actually insurance. Insurance is a protection against future losses. You can't go buy car insurance after an accident or renters insurance after your place has been burgled and expect them to cover your losses. The very concept of insurance is that you pay a small amount on a regular basis against the POSSIBILITY that the event against which you are insuring occurs. When the future event is a certainty, you are not buying insurance, you are telling the "insurance" company that you want to pay less for something than what it actually costs, and you expect them to pick up the balance.

A perfect summation of why healthcare shouldn't be handled by insurance companies.
