Having discussions without insulting other posters leads to better discussions, and makes this a friendlier forum for people to post their opinions.

Body of work. Syndergaard has it. Whitley doesn’t. Signing him in 2022 does nothing for right now. You’re trading to fill a current need, any hypothetical beyond that is just a bonus.

He’s had 3 straight 20/20 (HR/SB) seasons, all while he was much younger than his league. That combo along with potential plus corner OF defense gives him a ceiling in line with superstars like Mookie Betts and Christian Yelich.

You don't trade a 22 year old position player putting up the number Tucker has for the last 3 years in the minors. Especially, when you will have a need in 2021 because u could lose both Brantley and Reddick. Tucker will be here next season because of the 26 player being added. If they continue to get him work at 1st base, he could become an option there by next spring.

Fair. So, that is what Lunhow is betting on I guess when not dealing him, I realize even Trout had to go back down once, but I didn't like what I saw from his limited time up here.

Luhnow just knows the value of elite prospects. There are only a handful of starting pitchers with enough surplus value to justify giving up Kyle Tucker, and none of them are available.

If Luhnow does end up trading Tucker for one of the available pitchers, it will mean there is something about Tucker or the pitcher they get (or both) that makes the trade a good deal.

Tucker’s initial arrival has been analyzed well. A lot of bad luck involved. If he didn’t come up on a stacked team in the middle of a pennant race, Hinch could have been more patient and afforded time for him to work through things.

While we want every player to have an Alvarez type of takeoff, that’s not realistic. Give him time. Tucker has the pedigree to be elite.

Not that Luhnow doesn’t get it wrong sometimes (CFM), but he has proven beyond any doubt that his system and evaluations of players works—really works.

Yeah, maybe he would go for a bonafide ace, I didn't realize Thor/Wheeler numbers were so pedestrian this year.....

Bregman started 2-32 and their stats are very similar through 64 at bats.

Sadly he’s better than what we already have and I like Chirinos and I don’t think anyone had a problem with his defense.

Didn’t realize Thor was from Dallas. I’ve now changed my mind to “do not want”

It’s always been Greinke for me- for 2 years now.
