Great. So our 2nd round CB cant cover WRs or TEs.

Kelce has made veteran CBs look bad.

And he makes overdrafted rookie 2nd round CBs look even worse.

Just stop with the whole "he was playing well". That is just more BS from you and we all know it.

This pick is going to haunt us for years. Just absolutely terrible scouting by the Texans. This guy couldn't do anything right. They passed on all the good CBs for him.

You scheme to cover your weaknesses. Texans schemed to expose them.

...to add: He may well turn into a very good corner, he certainly has the skills, but the Texans put a rookie out on an island against arguably the best receiving TE in the NFL, that's just inexcusable **** no matter how you cut it.

But certain people will continue to excuse it.

I think he’s going to be good. Can’t ask a rookie to cover a HOF tight end in his prime while he has arguably the best quarterback in the league and one of the best play callers in the league on the opposite end.

I don't like to not blame BOB, but the last draft is all Brian Gaine written all over it. Gaine was a Parcells disciple, and the Parcells philosophy was always draft the best physical tools, even if they haven't figured out how to play football yet. Last draft was all about traits. Johnson was basically a part time starter for 2 years of college football.

I guess you can blame BOB for trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, so... OK let's do that. Gaine did what he does well. BOB should have known what he was going to get with his "hand picked" guy, and shouldn't have expected them all to play on day 1.

A few years back I was unemployed for a couple of months around draft time and tried to develop an encyclopedic and comprehensive film background on all the players likely to be drafted.

The short version of this is that I would bet BOB relies on reports from the scouting department and the GM alot more than he lets on when he stands at the podium and pretends hes seen everybodys tape back top Pop Warner after the draft and known all about them since they were in diapers. I'm guessing he watched a compressed game of Johnson or two, saw him run at the combine and put a ton of weight into what the scouting department had to say. There is no way any human being has time to be an NFL head coach and know all the players as well as the area scouts.

I go back to the fact that Gaine was fired a couple of days after the start of rookie minicamp, like bob was shocked when he actually got his hands on what the team had drafted.

I'm sure obrien looks at scouting reports and film

I think Gaine was fired because he wouldn't to dumbass trades like the clowney and Tunsil ones. Right after he was fired is when obrien did those

    Tunsil trade was not dumb...

Clowney should have been traded before the draft.....Gaine screwed that up.

Gaine was fired for a HR issue...Primarily.

He can certainly turn it around, but as a 2nd rounder, Johnson is certainly looking like a bust so far.

    LOL. You are idiot.

Texans pick this year...#26. You should research how many "stars" come from picks that low. 2021....will probably be in the same range.

I had Johnson nowhere on my radar. My top picks for DB were Justin Layne, Juan Thornhill and David Long. Texans had a chance to get at least 2 of them in the second. How is it that a dumbass like me scouts better than ones who are getting paid? Wait......
