I will absolutely guarantee that the successful, analytical Astros management team will do whatever is best over the long haul to maximize their regular season and playoff chances.
He has always had a chip on his shoulder. Top flight closers need an edge. They're asked to come in at the most crucial point of the game. Giles will be fine. He has the stuff. He's had success in the leagues and failure. It's time to learn from some of that failure. There were no relievers last years that walked away being untouchable, at least his team won it all and he was a big part of last season. He needs to mature a little more. FYI Luhnow on ESPN 97.5 now
Thought this was pretty neat. Gotta think this is great work for both guys (JV going against live hitter and Tucker getting to face one of the best pitchers in baseball). JV got the best of him the first two strikes but Tucker made him pay for a mistake on the last pitch. Love JV's reaction to giving up the hit. The guy's a competitor through and through.
When Tucker truly does become the "next Ted Williams".... I bet that #79 jersey he's wearing today would sell for quite a bit.
Been waiting on of those "best shape of his life" stories on Reed. Hopefully it was the weight holding him back.
It would be interesting how we handle it if Reed does wreck shop. The trio of Gattis,Gurriel and Marwin would seem to block any potential AB's for a pure 1B/DH guy like Reed. If he's not hitting a ton, he's pretty useless. Would be a nice problem to have.
I don't think Gattis is an insurmountable obstacle. That said, I suspect White and Davis are higher on the depth chart than Reed.
This guy has the potential to be a 30-40 hr guy with a decent average. I hope he takes the next step cause he's raked at every level thus far. I LOVE THIS TEAM. OUTSTANDING TEAM THAT ENJOY EACH OTHER. OUTSTANDING COACHING AND A FRONT OFFICE THAT PULLS ALL THE RIGHT STRINGS.
