I love this because I don't speak any French, Italian and not enough Spanish to follow the other leagues. I love to watch, but announcers give the games a depth that make it far more enjoyable.
Barca close to signing Dembele, according to Spanish media. Rumored to already have agreed to terms with his agent. Transfer sum could be around 100mil.
di Maria also looks like an attainable target now that they got Neymar, a swap. Thomas Lemar also being an interesting propect.
Probably meaning next year, Winter or Summer. Klopp won't let him leave right now. I think it still might happen.
Late to comment on this...but Everton losing Lukaku only makes them more my team. A lifetime of disappointment awaits...as with my other teams based in Houston. It's fantastic how consistent it all is.
If Barcelona get Coutinho and Dembele they arguably improved from last season. On paper, they look like they're covering the weaknesses from last season's first team at mid-field and right-back. Coutinho is a sure thing and brings them the game breaker they've been missing since Iniesta's prime in mid-field. The question is if Dembele turns out to be worth that crazy amount of money and proves to be an adequate replacement for Neymar. Surprised they aren't going after Dybala, though. Real Madrid are putting a lot of faith in unproven players like Vallejo, Hernandez, and Hakimi, for depth at the back line, Llorente as relief for Casemiro, and Mayoral as a Morata replacement. Not sure if they can handle the pressure that Zidane will surely put on them when he plays the Real Madrid "B" team that was a big reason why they were so successful last season. It looks like they're willing to wait on M'bappe until next summer. First real game of the season is on now...
They were letting RM dominate the ball too much and playing way too passive in the midfield. Pogba didn't look like he was into the game at all. I think they're better than what they showed today...good enough to finish top 4 in the EPL...but not likely good enough for a deep run in the CL. There is still something missing. I think the talent is there but I'm not sure what it's going to take for them to put it together enough for a good run.
The game showed a big difference in quality between the two teams. De Gea and Pogba being the only players that would possibly start for Madrid on United. But despite Madrid dominating the game, United had great chances and should have at least tied it.
It was fun watching Fellaini opressing the little man Carvajal and Rashford being so quick. Matic I think did well.
