Pearland is back. They their first round game yesterday and will play tomorrow against a very good team from California in the winner's bracket.

It's a double-elimination format, same as the College World Series.

Good luck to the boys representing the Greater Houston Area.

The umpire behind the plate tonight was a joke and made a mockery of of the game. His strike zone was an additional 3 inches on each side. This is why Pearland's final 13 outs were by strikeout.

He also paused about one second after each pitch and everybody had to wait on his call.

    Lol

When first started watching, I thought every pitch was a ball.
Some major league umps do it too. They're attention whores IMO.

    The tournament is double elimination.
Did Pearland lose before this game?

No. They play Bonita, CA again in the final of the loser's bracket. The winner of that game faces the Pennsylvania team for the USA championship.

    Good there's still a chance.

Pennsylvania has been wrecking shop. Pearland was only a hit away from tying it, but PA was a hit from blowing it open.

I went from just having this on as background noise to being all in it. This game is crazy.

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
    OH YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol... I have no association to the team, just thought I'd bring some excitement. Got to root for Texas...

Yeah, I've been working and just threw it on, and then got sucked in.

I thought the announcers were really on point. They knew exactly what pitches were likely to be coming.

Went to the restroom down 1, and came out a winner. Plus Texas won!

I have several relatives from Pearland. They are all excited and have been following the games closely. The International Championship will be today at 12:30 on ABC, with the United States Championship to follow at 3:30. I think Tokyo and Pennsylvania are the best teams, but Pearland isn't too far behind. They need to get back to what they were good at - pitching and good defense.

I think Texas should start an intentional walk on Cole Wagner. I don't know why they would continue pitching to him.

Pearland got one back. Now tied 1-1 in the top of 2nd inning.
