For sure, it's a no-brainer. The overall more dominant player is Clowney.

if we had mack, Romeo wouldn't be able to scheme the things he does on Defense. If not for the obvious, I'd say that was Watt wearing #90 and by obvious I mean watt and clowney have different hair styles.

When JJ returns next year, we'll need to write a reference on our hands to remember which one is which.

If Clowney was 100% healthy he would have tackle him. I've seen tapes from him in high school when he chase down fast wide receivers, and he tackle the s--- out them.

Sure, but I'm fairly certain NFL WR's are a good deal faster than high school WR's. The fact that he got that close to him was insane.

But Clowney is a natural freak. He has always been super athletic since junior high. If he just gets 100% healthy, the NFL will see his talent.

It's still Mack and all things considered no one would take Clowney over Mack at this point. No knock on Clowney but Mack is the best LB and one of the best defensive players in the sport.

That being said were extremely lucky he bounced back this year and is top 3 at TFLs and a supreme edge rusher. Still can't fault the pick as it's hard to imagine the Texans being in the playoffs without him. Has had some huge plays at the end of the Colts and Jags games. Safe to say he's the best #1 overall pick we've had. Better than Mario for sure.

I think just about anyone who knows the NFL and both players picks Clowney over Mack and it's a really, really easy decision. Clowney simply can do MUCH more than Mack can. If the Texans had picked Mack over Clowney, the defense would be a LOT worse without Watt, but since they went with Clowney, it hasn't hurt nearly as much due to Clowney being able to take on that role.

As someone who wanted Mack all the way during the draft, there is no way in hell I would take Mack over Clowney in hindsight. Clowney is way too much of a disruptive force damn near every single play, while Mack is just a very good d lineman.

A lot of people chuckled after Clowney made a comment about being an elite player last year. Those critics have been silenced.

A lot of us are homer fans; so we grade our players with rose color googles. It is exciting that you can take the rose colored googles off, and Clowned is still an elite and superb talent. Elite DE are generally more difficult to find than Elite LB. You can find good LB throughout the draft, elite DE are generally at the top of the draft.

But Mack would have been a worthy selection of the number 1 pick.

Clowney is regaining his value. In a draft redone, right now Mack would be perceived the superior talent, but give Clowney one more year and he will cement his grasp as THE elite talent of his draft class. The talking heads don't like eating crow.

We could use PFF unless that doesn't fit the #narrative. Clowney has bounced back in amazing fashion. That being said...most GMs would still take Mack over him and I don't think it's close from a production, attitude, and health standpoint. One good year doesn't save him from that. Simply put: Clowney is a Pro Bowler. Mack is an All Pro. If Clowney can do this for a few more years then we'll see and sprinkle some All Pro selections in there while he's at it.

At some point you just have to accept people despite their shortcomings. Not everyone will have a good opinion, and that's fine. Sure it's annoying, but oftentimes they really can't help it. Perhaps at some point they'll see the light, it's really all you can hope for.

Congrats to JDC, Merci and B-Mc. The All Pro designation is definitely the more prestigious award vs the Pro Bowl selection.
