Could this be the reason we brought him in again?

Jones was just medically red-flagged because of his knee. Reported by chad ford

So that's why people compare him to TMac.

I'm confused on how a meniscus issue would be a red flag concern - relatively minor as far as knee problems go and not typically a situation where the player isn't 100% following surgery.

His disinclination to play with urgency is a much bigger question mark, I would think.

As a Baylor grad and someone who's watched over a dozen BU games this past season, I'm mixed on PJ3. His athletic upside is huge, maybe top 5 in the draft. He had some games this year where he clearly lived up to the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year award.

On the flip side, in some of the close games where BU really had to grind out the win or got the L, he vanished, and just seemed disengaged from the game.

Are there any good examples of players who were coached to be more aggressive? It kind of seems like you have it or you don't. I remember thinking several times that if PJ3 had the motor of Quincy Acy or even Pierre Jackson, then you'd have a star on your hands.

By all accounts, he's a good guy with great intentions and a tough family background. Maybe the NBA has the counseling/coaching resources to put a fire in him.

It's interesting to say the least. He may never get that "fire" that he is lacking. But if he ever is to ignite it I think we may have the right coaching staff to ignite the spark. McHale is the kind of no-nonsense kind of coach that will not reward being lazy. If Jones was here, if he doesn't try he doesn't play. He clearly wants to be an NBA players and he wants to play, put in a situation like this he would have to show incredible effort in order to get that.
