Our team should NOT use the lefty vs lefty strategy.. Teams use this strategy to TRY to gain an advantage over batters since they dont see certain pitches as well coming from the lefties, but when our left handed pitcher is TREVOR MILLER we gain ZERO advantage. This guy has well below average stuff/command and makes me cringe everytime the ball leaves his hand just waiting for the hitter to mash it over the wall. BRING YOUR DAMN SET UP GUYS IN regardless of who's up to bat. How can you trust Miller with a 2 run lead and a man on over bringing in Qualls or Lidge?
About time we won a series. Still a long way to .500, so how bout a sweep of Chicago (including the make up against the Cubbies).
Awesome game. I am not fooled by the Jennings performance considering how bad the white sox are. I am relieved that they pulled one out. A sweep would be nice. At first, I was sure they were going to blow it, but kudos to Qualls for getting through the ninth.
Awesome that we finally won a series . With that being said though, why in God's name is Trevor Miller allowed to be on a major league roster? He's a lefty, sure. Does he have command of any part of the strike zone, let alone his pitches? NO.
Astros are 3-1 when Munson starts at catcher. The only loss was after he left the game when it was tied versus the Cards last Sunday.
I went to the game. it was my first at the cell. it was pretty cool... cleaner than Wrigley. Wrigley has all the cool bars to go before and after the game though.. glad the Stro's won. I was wondering why Pence didn't play though. I really wanted to see him for the first time. Also why they didn't walk Thome at the end and what's with the 2 pickoffs. how many times has that happened within a couple innings
he looks pretty good behind the plate so far. nice block on a wild pitch late in the game that was important.
If the Astros don't score this inning, that's a play to remember (Lee's baserunning blunder). Always hurts to (potentially) have a runner on third with none out and do nothing.
