I’ve heard about this. It’s inconceivable that a county in Texas, in the United States of America, could be forced to even consider taking such drastic action. Yet they are.
Things some right- wingers thought were going to happen under Obama. 1. Death Panels 2. Unidentified Federal troops apprehending peaceful U.S. Citizens 3. United States losing respsect on the world stage. None of them happened... Until Trump became president. Now they all have.
And yet, all the talking heads seem to be fine with it. Why? Because selling fear of the scary black Muslim illegal immigrant worked like a charm on the uneducated.
Ehm ..excuse me! What it means they will send them home to die? Are you going to send severelly ill ICU patients who have multiple system failure and are chocking on their own breaths out of the hospital? Who with every exhale they are giving out immense viral loads and should only be approached with N95 masks? Who are in tremendous suffering? So you can make them suffer more and also infect everyone who gets within 3 meters from them? Wtf is this? It is better to give them painkillers and provide them with a painfree and humane way to die while their family get hospital level PPE, and visit them in a sterile environment to say goodbye. This is a farce that is going to make people suffer more and also spread the virus even more.
...sounds like a plan. ...dying is something I'm pretty sure nobody's ever done more than once...and it's not like dead people can run negative ads about you or vote against you or anything like that...

Once you have to get on the ventilator your survival rate is not good. I think it's better to save beds for people who can be saved.
This was happening already. In Italy and NYC there were reports of doctors "triaging" patients which does mean deciding who which patients are more likely going to be saved and which that it might not be worth treating because of limited resources. As this disease into more rural ares that have less resources I get the feeling we're going to see more of this.
