Former NY Times reporter says that hospitals are NOT overrun in Texas. Still capacity. Don't let the panic p*rn articles cloud your judgment.
    -------------------

Former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson told "Bill Hemmer Reports" Wednesday that "it doesn't look like there's hospital overrun" in Texas shortly before the state announced a new high in the number of daily reported deaths from COVID-19.

"I think Texas, you know, like Arizona, like Florida, the hospitals are filling up," Berenson, the author of "Unreported Truths About COVID-19 and Lockdowns," told host Bill Hemmer. "They are not, you know, they're not at capacity. They're not into surge, except Houston might be a little bit into, sort of, first-level surge of ICU's ... Houston has about 1,300 to 1,400 people in ICU right now and they have about 1,300 ICU beds. They can also add about 1,000 ICU beds.

"Things are tough," Berenson acknowledged. "We're working hard. There's strain on our systems. Our systems are managing and right now, it doesn't look like there's hospital overrun."

"If you look at the number of deaths in Houston and in Texas as a whole, in Texas, it's [a population of] 30 million people," Berenson said. "New York ... has 20 million people. The deaths in ... Texas are ... a fraction, they're 10 percent of what they were in New York."

Berenson then reminded Hemmer that hospitals, including intensive care units, typically function close to capacity even in normal times.

    You and me both.

what really puzzles me is what is the payoff?

How far does this guy think he can go, can't he see how it is currently backfiring on Trump?

How many people does he think are gonna look back on this fondly and vote for him?

Did he actually also brag that he usually goes out to eat?

Big texxx is listening to FORMER reporters now? Wtf?

"Berenson is a former reporter for The New York Times and the author of several thriller novels and a book on corporate financial filings. "

What a joke. Do you know how laughable you are?

So as long as you don't die everything is fine?

Who knew that something that is enough to get you admitted to a hospital is no big deal.

So the doctors nin these hospitals are just making **** up?

Yeah..what will he be saying this time next week or two weeks from now?
I dont think that just by blaming Fauci is going to be good enough for his voters.
And I dont think that , like Bolsonaro is doing now, just saying the economy needs to open coz more people are dying from that than the virus is going to cut it coz usa isnt poor.

Maybe Trump will scapegoat DeSantis so everyone will just be blaming him.

What is doubly infuriating, malakas, is that the White House, today, has essentially ordered the nation's hospitals to send their information about those coming to their hospitals - the number of cases, the number in intensive care, their critical care units, the number on respirators, the deaths, the discharged patients, in short, everything - to go NOT to the CDC, the nation's Center for Disease Control, who's function is to deal with exactly this sort of crisis, but rather to a nebulous entity at the White House.

Why, you might ask? The hospitals, busy spending valuable time attempting to figure out why they have to do this and how, are wondering themselves. It makes no sense whatsoever, unless it is to allow the White House to "massage" the figures and keep vital information not only from the public, who they work for (they seem to have forgotten that), but from the researchers, scientists, and medical professionals attempting to solve this crisis and bring it to an end.

It is madness. trump is insane, as are the cowardly enablers he's surrounded himself with. trump has, without a doubt, become a clear and present danger to the United States.

In other countries there were doctors and nurses filming what happens in the hospitals , speaking to the tv and crying and there were also strikes and mass walkouts from the healthcare to protest lack of PPE.

I dont think its possible to hide what is going to happen to your city amd what will happen to Florida unless the ccp takes over.

This situation will become impossible to hide without media cencorship and blackouts.

Unless there is lockdown there is simply no way back from the edge of the cliff.

Add Kemp to the list of Republican governors that deserve to spend time in prison for their pandemic actions.

12k new cases and 150 deaths for Tx

We are now within a mere growth multiplication of 3 from being peak Italy bad in Texas, and there is no major statewide lockdown in sight.

Our governing leaders are sabotaging at an outright evil and criminal level at this point.

Abbott - “But it was the opening up of bars, the celebration of Memorial Day, graduations — all those things taking place at the same time. And I’ll add another thing and that is if you look at all the messaging that came from across the nation, as well as locally, and that is that if you’re young, it seemed like you were immune to it. And that turned out to be incorrect because now we’re seeing about 50% of the people who are testing positive are categorized as being under the age of 35.”

What happens if that messaging across the nation is wrong about kids too? Then we are in deep, deep s***.

But I guess if that happens you can proudly say “Well we left it up to the school districts!”
