I’m a liberal so I believe in liberal self identification. Therefore I respect the Nazi flag flying citizen’s ability to call himself a Republican.

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of an Anglo State.

I like the notion that there is some question whether Nazis are conservatives. That just gives me the full body giggles.

Don't know where you got that idea .... Criminals come in a rainbow of colors.

    You are just race baiting.

    There's a simple solution to that problem - don't steal someone's stuff - don't get shot.

Another simple solutions is if someone isn't a threat to your life, don't shoot them.

For discussion purposes, what rights does a homeowner have to prevent theft of their property?

I am not sure all of the legal rights. I would suggest alarms, security cameras, locks, phones to call police. Dogs to bark and make home owners aware. If they are not in an isolated area that should be plenty.

like in this example, a $20 flag was stolen in the yard and the suspect was already fleeing with their back facing the homeowner?

pretty sure it's NOT shooting the suspect on the back 4 times with a rifle.

Wow, the flag was autographed by Hitler and appraised at 3.2 million Deutsche Marks.

Or put another way - at what point can you try to murder someone for taking something off your lawn?

You don't get why substituting the word "criminal" for "black" in black lives matters looks like you are equating blacks to criminals?

Also, you need to look up race baiting because you clearly don't know what the term means.

nah, she wasn’t just as wrong...c’mon man, there’s levels to this...

I can’t shoot someone 4 times because they stole my bike from my front yard...it’s insane...that’s pretty much the equivalent of what that Nazi sympathizer did

If someone stole my basketball from the driveway, and I kill them for it, I would be insane to justify doing so because “well, he or she shouldn’t have been stealing.”

a flag, a bike, a basketball, or insert whatever item u might have in your driveway or front yard is not even close to the worth of someone’s life, and if u attempt to kill someone over that, u do not value human life

They stole your item? Report it to the police instead of busting your guns.

    stealing = killing

stealing a $20 NAZI flag = killing a "criminal lives matter"

no doubt...I’m trying to equate stealing that Nazi flag to stealing what a normal non-Nazi might have in their front yard or driveway that somebody might try and take

this guy needs to get locked up...he can indulge in his pro-Nazi sh*t with the Aryan Brotherhood in prison

The locks, alarms, and security cameras are deterrents but will not stop a thief. They are largely ineffective as well with proper planning. Police response time is terrible, and that's if they'll even respond. A dog is a large responsibility on its own, it's not for everyone if we're talking strictly home defense.
Does monetary value determine when lethal force is applicable? How is the homeowner supposed to calculate total damages while the crime is occurring? And does fleeing grant the criminal immunity from the homeowner?
In this instance, it's theft. But we can broaden it to property crime in general. It's not murder to me when a victim is defending oneself from a criminal.

It's hard to claim self-defense when you shoot someone in the back

Tools in the shed worth thousands.
So you think criminals who flee from their victims have immunity?
