Loss of life from contracting the virus would suck for anyone in the crowd risking it, but the last thing this country needs is for protest to cease being civil. Here's to hoping they remain that way. The idiots.
MN Gov. Walz tried to call Trump and Pence to ask about Trump's "Liberate Minnesota" tweet. He didn't get through but noted at his press conference today that Trump's tweet wasn't in the spirit of the standards that Trump himself had announced this week.
I'm sorry MN. This is what happened from one gathering much smaller than this one in CT. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/23/us/coronavirus-westport-connecticut-party-zero.html
It's a smart move by Trump politically. By tapping into the frustrations of voters in key swing states with Democratic governors which MN, MI, and VA all have, he is hoping that he can put the blame on Dems and help him win the states in the fall election. In all likelihood these are states he was in danger or losing so creating unhappiness with the governor is a logical decision. Unless people see through this but so far that hasn't happened.
Most people in MN see through this. As I noted with the people flying Trump campaign material at the “protest” it’s pretty obvious that this politically motivated. Also former Congressman Right Wing Radio Host and candidate for Senate Jason Lewis was out at today’s protest. I saw on the news him hi fiving some people.
I generally try and stay out of D&D Forum, but this is my reaction seeing what's happening over in America...
I am not sure if I agree with you. I hear a lot of support for Trump from various circles - even though who are not MAGA dogs. Trump's strategy is smart. Play both sides of the fence. If things work out, he can take all the credit, if they don't he can blame the governors. Economy goes bad? They should have listened to him to reopen the economy. The virus comes back and creates a mess? Well, he told the governors to call the shots, it's not his fault they made bad decisions. Things turnaround and life returns to normal? It's because of his great leadership. He's now got every scenario covered.
There's a lot of time till your elections. Enough time for 2-3 more virus waves to come and go. Some states from what I understand, didn't even have their first wave hit them full yet
