We don't have let anything fail because of laid off workers. We won't let it happen in terms of people getting kicked out of homes, not eating, etc
    Not the tenants or landlords

Yang should have been the nominee.

    But people are dumb.

I'd pay a couple grand to see him wipe the floor with Trump in a debate at this point.

And then I'd have gotten it back in a couple months.

In the stimulus thread, I posted an op/ed by 2 Berkley economists explaining why Europe's economy hasn't gone down the shitter as fast as ours.

More unemployment protections...the government pays the employer to keep their employees. There's an employer mandate to rehire the people they let go during the crisis.
Universal healthcare rather than employer provided healthcare that goes away during furloughs/layoffs.
Different controls to distribute profits away from companies that are profiting during these times of crisis.

It's not entirely Yang's vision because Yang never intended people to stay at home for months on end, rather distribute the highly lucrative gains Tech Giants grab from libertarian no/anti-regulation advantages in "disruption" and near monopoly powers.

I would pay good money to see the two debate also. Mouth breathers would be entertained as well.

I like Yang, but not his policies. Yang can't even hold his own in the CNN round table discussions. Trump would annihilate him.

You think Trump could hold his own at those discussions without info being fed to him?

Let me laugh at you while I point my finger your direction. Ha!

The problem is you would consider "Trump annihilating him" as Trump not answering a debate question, and instead make some cheesy put down that gets chuckles like his Rosie Odonnell joke when he was asked about a serious question about being a misogynist. Trump cannot debate seriously because he's ignorant on basically every issue but he can rehearse cheesy jokes and put downs as a difflection, and his supporters like yourself eat that sh$t up.

But just to be clear... that is not "Annihilating him" or whoever he ends up debating if anyone come the fall. That is just a referendum on his voters love of him making a mockery of the entire process. But he's still ignorant on basically every topic he debates, or talks about as a policy issue.

If Yang was the nominee, Trump would suddenly get really uptight about the $2T stimulus bill. People would be saying signing it would be a tacit admission that Yang was right. The stimulus bill (which is already a bit dysfunctioinal) would have to be twisted into a pretzel to avoid anything that looked too Yang-like.

Well we are getting a trial version of Communism. Enjoy it and pray that our govt and people aren't stupid enough to buy a full subscription.

In other news, Spain is said to be going full on UBI.

If you think that's communism, or whatever you think it is that's giving us a trial version of communism, the joke's on you. You might need to look in the mirror before you call others stupid.

    Good for Spain.

UBI is communism light and will destroy Spain (see: Socialism). You don't understand economics to comment in such a manner regarding UBI which is extremely dangerous for economies because it devalues currency.

Still, I am absolutely thrilled to see Spain enact it so I can show you and others why UBI fails. Let's watch it burn and later I'll come back and show you why with one more example of failed socialism when it is practiced. And then you and other idiots will says but it wasn't real socialism and I'll say told you so.

I don't want full out socialism. I'm not for that.

What I do appreciate is that Scandinavian countries have enacted it to great success. I think it's a viable alternative, and a much better one, than others that are pushing a livable wage of $15/hr.

While I may not be as knowledgeable on the economy, I'll be the first to admit that. That being said, only time will tell.

All the Scadanavian countries have some form of socialized healthcare; in Denmark it's free healthcare

Label them what you want, I'm talking about UBI and other principals that people like Yang are pushing. It seems we are easy to label grey areas into black and white labels.
