Grocery Stores are essential. Nobody will be restricted from going there if there were to be a shutdown. What this will do is shut down non-essential stores like Best Buy, Home Depot, Nail Shops, etc etc.

You're not hearing me. The general public will panic. They do for the dumbest reasons and a morning announcement will just make it worse. Plus Home depot won't shut down btw.

Yes that's right. They stop you touching your face.

N95 masks also don't stop the aerosols. Only the bigger droplets.

yeah they do. N95 is completely different bc they have filters and when worn correctly its a complete seal on your face. that's the whole point. that's why these are so important to the medical field with the shortage

The good news is that most of China is coming back to normal. Beijing traffic today was almost like normal.

This is essential, because if they open their factories we can get even more millions of medical equipment and masks every day.

Yeah that's another concern. We don't have enough police to enforce a shutdown in a county this large. People will still do whatever they ant because, Texas.

I agree saying it this morning wouldn't have helped but we probably should of announced it last night and said it 'Goes into Effect' like Tuesday night or something to that effect. Would probably help with the panic and gives people some time to plan.

Problem is people here don't plan. They panic. It happened in Rita and it's happening now.

The fabric masks only stop drops getting on your skin, but you gotta take it off immediately or you'll be breathing those drops in. I hope people understand that. A lot of these home-sewn masks aren't gonna do much.

the police aren't even going to really enforce it. it's just the formality of the announcement for the people that aren't taking this seriously to maybe do so. but there's just so many avenues to work around being punished for a "shutdown" and the police aren't going to be wasting their time to actually implement this

Pulling out isn't as effective as a condom but you bet your ass if i have the chance to do it I will. It's still better than nothing.

This virus is transmitted from both droplets, aerosols and through touch.
A N95 mask can protect against "most" quantity of aerosols but not the smaller ones. There is the N99 mask for this but it is impossible to use for long.

Normal masks can protect against DROPLETS AND TOUCH.

Are you going to go in a hospital? Are you going to take care of a severe case ?
Then a simple mask is ENOUGH.

I agree it's better than nothing, but it's one and done. What I'm worried is people are gonna continue to wear a contaminated mask that will do more harm than good.
