The Kobe thing and new format certainly gave it more meaning. But sure, some here using the ASG to find a new villain in Antetokounmpo.
Can we just get rid of All Star weekend? Just let the players take a break? And, no. I did not watch the game last night.
It was lockdown D at the end though, surely not for everyone. Can't say I regret it. I missed the 3 pt contest though which I planned to watch. If 30 something is being a boomer, then I should be one.
The ending got pretty good and was pissed when Harden's shot for the win was discounted. But part of me still feels like they're ****ing with the formula way too much. Still not really onboard with the draft system. It was East-West for almost 70 years, why fix what ain't broke? It's just gonna be LeBron vs Giannis or Steph every year.
if the all star games are like this from now on, then you should watch them. At least the last two quarters.Real effort, highlights and actual defence, suspence everything a fan would wish to see from an all star game. Skip the dunk contest though that thing is still utter garbage.
It's one big gimmick fest now. The ending was good but only because I wanted to see Harden hit the game winner, and he almost had it. But breaking every quarter up into its own game? Wtf? They're turning this into a mf'ing pickup game now. Smdh
this game was great to me. That level of play last night specifically the 4th quarter hasn't been seen for at least a decade. maybe even more. format was just on point this year
Breaking each quarter in its own game is much more interesting than a meaningless game that sees no defence. There were kids from the charities cheering and booing and the crowd was involved. You knew that each quarter actually meant something.
The target score was something about Kobe's numbers, only in the 4th Q. Giannis team was leading after 3rd Q. 133+ Kobe's 24.. 157 (Lebron's team got 124 after 3 quarters.)
Yea, updated hot take opinion from game can’t end on free throws to if it’s last procession and you foul make it one on one
the disparity in talent between the East and the West is usually too ridiculous this ASG was actually good, they should keep the format like this
the only problem with the Elam format is that the players must pay attention and "cook" a little the numbers so the difference starting in the 4rth quarter isn't very big. If the other team is already 20 down then there isn't much excitement.
