Back to the 90s and influenced by the Ramones The Queers - Can't go wrong with them. Their shows were always a blast, fast paced. nonstop from beginning to the end. Screeching Weasel The Vindictives
Well, looks like the thread's inclusivity has reached the point where almost anything goes. So here we go. TBH, I think these songs are relevant to punk as mush as anything posted so far. '60 '57 '56
I've really gotten into Cockatoo Quill by SNFU for a few weeks now. If you know anything about Mr. Chi Pig's struggles with addiction (or if you or anyone you care about struggles with addiction), it's a pretty powerful song. It's quickly become my favorite SNFU song...yet.
Just stumbled across these guys. Very interesting lineup...three white dudes and a black chick singer (very atypical for a punk group). Probably a little heavier than traditional punk...but these guys rock out hard! Would love to be friends with the lead singer...she is absolutely wired!
Well I missed this thread the first time around but a lot of names have been covered - depends on if you want to go with ‘70s punk, hardcore, post-hardcore, emo, post punk, pop punk, noise rock, post punk revival, etc - they’re all great. I will though point out 2 bands in particular that you need to go, wait run and buy all their albums - The Wipers and Unwound.
I’ve been on a FIDLAR kick lately, which I had never heard of until a few months ago even though they have been around for a while. ‘Cheap Beer’ from the FIDLAR album caught my attention initially but their style definitely fluctuates a lot and changes a bit through the years the Too album is solid too (get it?). ‘Sober’ gets stuck in my head
Heart warming stuff for any fans of Mike Ness and Social Distortion. He is battling tonsil cancer and he posted this today.
