Teams are trying to say they are not available, but they are actually available. Market price is overpay price. Covington - Need a lotto pick and a 2nd round pick to get him unless you are DLo. Davis Bertans - need a First to get his 2-month mental. He takes 9 three point attempts per game. Gallinari - need a First to get his 2month rental, he can play PF. Knicks Morris - need a First to get his 2month rental. He shoots 50% from the three. Aron Baynes- 33 years old, worse stats than WCS, need a First to get his 2month rental. Baynes is comparable to Harden because he has a magnificent beard.
Teams have smarten up and taking the stand pat with "letting their teams build better chemistry" or "tank away."
Some teams maybe just want to start high. But if they are slightly delusional. They are showing signs of an endowment effect. An emotional bias that says that once a team own something (or have a feeling of ownership) they irrationally overvalue, regardless of its objective value. At times loss aversion, where deals look fair at the time, but once traded the person came in is a dud, but the person leaving becomes a stud.
Marcus Morris and Robert Covington would've helped the Rockets, when they were here. Kevin McHale was the worst Coach for those players, Mike DAntoni system would've helped. But hey Daryl Morey is a Genius in not keeping them.
