Anime watchers out there?

MHA was trending after the last episode too, but man, I thought the fight was just okay. Deku basically kicked the dude, then punched him once, then it was over. Fans wildin over that has me confused.

It looked great, emotion was there, but not much happened IMO.

The tournament arc fight against Todoroki and the last All Might fight is still the high water mark IMO.

Even the All Might fight against that Nomu, where he was trading all those blows, was better than this one.

I can agree with that, the fight wasn’t as good as the aforementioned. But the visuals and reason why Deku was in that physical state man! I was hyped! Add Nighteyes vision and outcome, It was a great climax to some slow episodes.

 

Fire force and vinland saga are really good if no one has recommended them.

 

Started watching 7 deadly sins and its entertaining but so inconsistent with power levels. It could be so much better.

 

Are you referring to the sins or just the characters in general? It definitely gets much better

 

I finished the 24 episode season 1 and the show is good overall, just the fact that all the main characters and villains seem to all be on equal playing field depending on which episode. So early on Meliodas makes Gilthunder look like a non factor and then all of a sudden later in the season, Gil is faster and stronger.

Then theres the Sins which seem like theyre all equal except for the fact that Meliodas has a demonic power. Theres just no clear cut hero, which is a good thing imo, just unclear and consistent with power levels.

 

Vinland Saga is definitely an anime of the year contender. Askeladd is one of the most deep, layered, nuanced characters I have ever seen in a show. I did recommend it early in the season, and I'm now glad I took the chance on doing that.

Fire Force doesn't scratch my itch as much. It has all the weird traits of a Shaft show (lots of Shaft people working over at David Production now), and some of the characters are great, and some are terrible. The second half is definitely better than the first half, IMO. All that said, I legit like Shinra as a protagonist. Like really like him. He somehow has all the traits in proper balance, something I rarely see even in some of the best shows. I just find him extremely likable no matter what goes on around him, so good on them for getting that right.

I just finished season 1 over a 2 day period and man....was not disappointed. It's probably one of the best anime series I've watched in quite some time.

 

What are you guys mostly watching right now?

 

MHA and Dorohedoro. Pretty much just do 1 or 2 series now per season.

 

Caught 1 episode of ID:Invaded and it seemed interesting, Need to go back and pick it up.

 

Started watching Food Fight never liked non action anime but I am digging this.

Maybe because I like to cook and they do a lot of history and science of cooking.

Catching up on Black Clover. But man, the animation on that show can be pretty terrible at times. They must be working with a very limited budget.

 

MHA, Fire Force and started watching 7 DS. Quality is in that order for me

 

7 deadly sins is alright but it leaves much to be desired for me.

 

Yeah that’s why I have it last, it’s good but not great. It’s a filler between episodes of my main anime.
