A lot of classified government records are automatically declassified after 25 years. Does that not apply to FISA courts?

...most of us don't have attention spans that endure beyond 25 minutes...let alone 25 years...

...unless we're looking for fake birth certificates or forged pizza delivery receipts...;):)

Well a secret court isn't going to be able to function if its secrecy only lasts for 25 minutes. They deal with national security issues, so the need for secrecy is demonstrable. It is better to have some kind of court issuing warrants for foreign intelligence than to just let the intelligence agencies decide unilaterally for themselves, so the FISC needs to the exist. And, to not render our foreign intel efforts useless, they need secrecy. So, to then try to use transparency as an antiseptic, well that's hard to accomplish. Automatic declassification after a long period of time is probably better than nothing, at least. Maybe the IG should be much more active in this area. Or, more robust reporting to Congress.

    ....I'll say it again:

Michael Cohen could have learned a thing or two from Tom Hagan about how to handle these things...;):D

Here we go again. Russia again attacking our elections and Trump & his supporters love this.

Only this time we don't have any Bob Mueller's left to investigate & charge those involved. Bill Barr is surely happy to turn a blind eye. Trump will weaponize anything the Russians dump out there on the campaign trail & zero Republicans will condemn him for it.

It's Groundhog Day every day in Trumps America.

Misleading. The FISA court didn’t declare them as illegal. The court demanded the DOJ to review the applications after the IG report and the DOJ declared two of the warrants (the renewals after the 2017 warrant expired) as invalid. The DOJ also said they will quarantine information collected even though there have been no declaration if the first two warrants are valid or not.

I want to know who and how the DOJ decide on validity. With Barr as the head of the DOJ, if his hand is involved, people will justifiably wonder if he inserted his bias for political reasons.

Aaron Hernandez almost got his guilty verdict receded because he killed himself in jail while appealing his case.

That doesn’t mean that AH is now not a murdered.

It’s no surprise at all that Trumps DOJ will work overtime to reverse anything that came out of the Mueller probe and bury any investigations connected to Trump. Look at what happened with Jeff Epstein under Barr’s thumb? If you haven’t realized yet that the fix is in with our DOJ under Barr you haven’t been paying attention.

    'procedural mistakes' you say?

they altered documents and intentionally withheld from the court that the Steele Dossier source said Steele was embellishing rumors. those aren't mistakes.
