This coaching staff/front office never learns.

We went with one plan only in 2017-18 season and lost badly in game 7 when it failed.

Since then we haven't changed and still do the same **** over and over again except now we lost our depth.

After last year's playoffs, the front office should've fired Dantoni and went in a new direction.

Instead, we "RunItBack" every year and expect different results.

    Yes .... It is.

All Harden has to do is go back to the old bread and butter high pick and roll with Capela.

Or Straight take it to the rack , its not like people cant stop him without fouling. Make that ref blow the whistle .... and go to the stripe.

    Post up those smaller guards!

There's options .... they just don't use them.

"I know what to do....I know exactly what to do.". James Harden says. This team needs to get angry, play with a sense of urgency and pride. Oh well, we also happen to have short and inconsistent players, and a coach who realizes that he won't get extended after this season. Add to that an owner who is a miser. Something about that face that bothers me.

Rockets were within few possesions of beating the best team of all times...2 years in a row... you dont go in new direction after such a great result...it actually means you are doing something right... it were nuances that decided that duel or unfair officiating even if you will

You know it's past the point of bad, when people who lack severe basketball IQ know there's an issue. But the organisation doesn't.

Great points, wake me up when we change our offense from a stagnant watch James shoot to a ball movement team that plays defense at a high level.

I don't know why they abandoned the high pick and roll. Harden can attack the rim or post up whenever he chooses. I just think that he has bought completely into the math, because it sent him into Wilt mode, and we were beating everyone except the Warriors.

I guess I considered a plan B being a new system with movement and "beautiful" basketball kind of like D'Antoni's actual offense ironically. Our roster isn't built for that kind of offense imo. We have catch and shoot specialist and I use "specialist" loosely. Guys who don't need to think, but just either let it fly or attack the rim. Harden doing what he does from the perimeter or the post then finding shooters for wide open 3's worked pretty well here in the past. But our role players are so limited that asking this group to run better sets may backfire.

If plan B is just Harden diversifying his offense and utilizing different areas on the floor before finding his shooters I'm all for that. But a Pop or MDA(Suns version) type of offense with that much movement and quick decision making would be tough. Different skill sets and better IQ's from our role players would be required if we're talking about trying to win a title.

    Just my opinion.

Teams playing the Rockets is like Ali with the rope a dope. Take the Rockets' best shots and make it a new ballgame in the 3rd and or 4th quarter.

It is ironic that Westbrook whose scoring inefficiency is well-known, demonstrated the way to attack the OKC defense (go to the rim) and keep the scoreboard ticking. Meanwhile our analytics superstar, the Beard demonstrated bad decision-making by bricking three after three down the stretch and gave OKC the momentum to snatch victory. He has a 65% conversion rate at the rim and he continued to chuck at the perimeter.

    Coach, where are you?

Previous iterations of the Rockets can compensate by locking down teams when the scoring goes missing. This version does not.

Kudos to Chuck for calling this out.

I think we all know what this Plan "B" to bring us the championship is.

If we're asking these veteran minimum role players to do more than they currently are .... Its doomed to failure. They just aren't that good and that's why they were available to sign for the minimum .... This team without Harden is a bad lottery team.

Plan A is shoot threes and attack the rim - some teams can stop or limit that and some nights those 3's just don't fall.

Its on Harden to realize when its not working approach it differently , at least for a time to get other things going. It is on him to keep the scoreboard moving , one way or another.

Plan B is to pray when Harden is jacking up his 15th 3.
