I’ve been to a couple, but the game I went to tonight was probably the worst it had been...this year was loud MVP chants for Bron, next year it might be full on boos for our players like it’s a Clippers home game
I knew this time would come where relying on Harden to bail us out every game would come. The bench or supporting cast has never been that great, but we had one man who would consistently carry us to the playoffs. If his form dips, the Rockets form dips. I know his shooting has been off the last 6 games or so, but he gets a pass.... because he's carried us so much. This is just proving of how much MDA is an overrated coach bailed out by Harden's brilliance. Take out Harden from this team and the Rockets wouldn't even make the playoffs. Just like last year, if Harden didn't carry us then, we wouldn't have made the playoffs.
Morey deserves this, MDA deserves this, Fertitta deserves this and some fans deserve this too. I don't remember a team with less heart and less pride than this.
Serge Ibaka would be a better fit than Love. He can space the floor and not be a complete liability on defense.
2016 was worse than this, but that team had a Young Harden still and we knew Dwight was gone. We had cap space and some youth and some flexibility and some assets to get out of the rut. This team has none of that. We are what we are, which is a mediocre team and have little assets to work with. There is little to no hope that this group will win a ring, and we’re stuck with this for years. Nightmare situation.
If Kevin Love wasn’t a complete turnstile on defense, I’d agree with you. However, he’s Ryan Anderson 2.0 in the Rockets’ defensive scheme. What Ibaka lacks on offense compared to Love is made up by the fact he’s not a complete liability on defense. However, yes, Love is a better offensive player and passer than Ibaka. It’s just a damn shame his defense is so porous.
Love on this team is averaging 20-10-5 easily with suspect defense. Ibaka on this team is averaging 12-6-1 with decent defense. I’ll take the former.
No need to waste even more assets on this team. We aren’t winning the title. Keep picks and hope we land a guy in the draft.
We have our 2020 pick. We already threw away our future for this team, but we can at least get a young guy. And hopefully MDA will be fired so some of these young guys can actually get a chance. Maybe Hartenstein will actually play!
Has to win it all this year. Next 3 seasons, the team salary is 140 million each for 7 players if keeping Tucker. how can you use MLE?
This Summer - I would Package Capela/Ego/House/Tucker/ For Cap Space and picks Harden - Westbrook - Bmac - Hartenstien - and Decent PF could do as well as we are now . . . All are not hard to replace Rocket River
To me a drastic Trade is so needed, trading Clint Capela is needed, but for the right Power Forward like Aaron Gordon. Strength, Shooting, Skills at Power Forward/Center is needed - Aaron Gordon/ Nikola Vucecic Versatile, Quick, Lengthy, Defending 6'8 Small Forward is needed, Shooting 3s is a Plus Mike DAntoni DOES NOT TRUST Clint Capela, in the 4th Quarter especially his Garbage Free Throws. Clint is body is like a weaker Small Foward who can't add strength. No Muscle mass whatsoever. Clint Capela $80 million salary is on the bench in the 4th, just pointless.
