    This is why memes are dangerous. Reductive memes have taken over right wing critical thinking and is spreading like the plague in conservative right wing circles in the place of nuanced thinking.

    I used to buy into the idea that the confederate flag as part of state flags was 'history not hate'. Or whatever the saying was. Then I learned that the confederate flag wasn't part of any state flag until the Civil Rights movement. Only then did southern states add the confederate flag. So it wasn't a matter of heritage but indeed a matter of hate.
