... and someone must have told trump his answer was ridiculous so he had to backpedal with a ridiculous excuse ("financial support"? So unbelievable). The fact that trump is bumbling on the global stage seated along real world leaders makes this even more embarrassing...
Well, if you believe him when he says he thought the question was about financial support, that makes his cryptic answer -- I don't want to comment on it but... -- more cryptic. If he thought he was saying no financial support, what commentary was he trying to be cagey about? Do we have some other involvement?
Honestly, this is the least offensive offensive thing he has done in a while. Given the way he operates day to day, its natural that his first thought was, [Edward G Robinson voice]"You arent going to pin this one on me, see?"[/Edward G Robinson voice] The thought of projecting American values like freedom, liberty, and democracy and acting Presidential wouldn't occur to him in 1,000 years because it's obvious that those are values he doesn't really share. The least offensive thing about Trump at this point is that he is a dottering old fool, and that's what this is an example of. He adopted the wrong paradigm in formulating a response to the question.
Is there any part of foreign policy that trump hasn't been a complete failure at?
