There's a lot about this team and its moves to criticize. Tunsil was one of the only "that makes actual long term sense" moves.

Of course I can understand being upset if you actually expected to contend this year, but, that's a different story.

At least the proverbial bar has been set for the negotiation. Somewhere upwards of $55MM guaranteed. I'd definitely push for more years, but you have a framework to start. Watson, Tunsil, Reader, Cunningham, Roby (?), and a possible redo of Nuk and J.J.'s contracts make for a very interesting off season for the Texans front office.

Reader and Whitney are also free agents. The defense is already bad so can't afford to lose them and it's not like they're gonna draft replacements.

Joseph, Hyde, fells and Miller are free agents as well

Haha, I had typed in Reader, but then it got removed when I went back in to add Tunsil, this the random R in my original post! Will have to go back and try to edit it; thank you!

Reader is a must....Whitney not so much especially if he wants top dollar. But on a team friendly deal sure.

    Miller might be cut
Jospeh MIGHT hang it up or come really cheap
Fells should be resigned at cheap deal
And Hyde should be resigned for cheap

I'm not sure how cheap fells and Hyde will be. They won't be expensive but will get raises I think

Agreed on mercilus but we don't exactly have anyone to replace him.

Reader will be very expensive. No guarantee Roby will come back even though he's had a meh year

We give up 2 1st round picks and a second round pick to win now. I don't think we are winning now so what would make this trade worth it?

You sign him long-term and he's Watson's All-Pro LT for the next decade.

    That's the plan, at least.

The team is good enough to win now...they just aren't prepared to win games.

Some coaches overachieve with rosters (Look at Mike Tomlin...or the guy that outcoached BOB today) and some coaches underachieve with talent.

It’s a good thing we mortgaged our future for this. Can’t wait to see how this all turns out!

If you are saying trading for Tunsil was to help for the future, what future?
Lets say they don't make the playoffs this year. We don't have very many high draft picks for the next 2 years and the Texans don't know how to draft. So only thing I see is 8-8 or 9-7 for the future and we make playoffs only if rest of the division is bad.
