While this is unlikely to happen, far be it from me to doubt Ken Starr, an expert in impeachement resigning from a presidency in disgrace when your cover-up of an ugly set of crimes gets blown up. (.... which, of course is,not a bug, but a feature in terms of an express route to the top in the Fox News, GOP ecosystem of today...)
There could be direct quotes from the President that he purposely violated the Constitution and the Republicans in the Senate would not remove the President from his office.
I love Sondland's "this hasn't been fair" argument. Probably pissed off some people in the WH. Basically "Yeah I had to amend my testimony but only because the White House has obstructed my testimony so I didn't have access to documents to help me remember."
