He's pretty far from elite at everything else though, particularly framing which is as important of a skill to catchers as hitting.

That's not what Nook was saying unless I misunderstood him. I dont know about framing but according to Nook he's an elite catcher. Maybe I misunderstood what Nook posted.

How far off (and what are legit expectations) for our 2019 #1 pick Korey Lee? I seem to recall Napoli comparisons. Does his acquisition really affect us going after a big-time catcher this offseason (Grandal or via trade)? Feels like we’re likelier to ride out bargain bin catchers (all things considered, including cost) until Lee comes up?

Lee has at best a 50/50 chance of being an everyday MLB player.

I wonder if we consider giving Harris 3 years instead of 2 with a bit lower per year. I.e., instead of 2/20, say, 3/24...

    unrelated:

I recognize that this sounds crazy, and I don’t personally expect any major shake-ups...But I wonder if we would consider trading a bevy of prospects for Bryant and then trade Correa for something centered around Boyd + other prospects.

I don't see the Astros giving Harris a 3 years deal and I don't see them paying 2/20 either.

Bryant is gonig to be expensive in terms of prospects and salary. He's a super 2 guy and mlbtraderumors has his estimated arbitration at 18.5 million for next year. I think the Astros would rather keep Correa at less than half that cost. Both are under arbitration for 2 more years. Bryant might cost 26-28 million his final year.

Boyd doesn't interest me. I don't view him as an upgrade over Urquidy or McCullers. I want a number 2/3 to either start in front of or behind Greinke. Boyd pitches in one of the most pitcher friendly home park. His road splits are awful. He has a career 5.60 ERA with a 1.42 WHIP on the road. Last season his home/road splits were better and almost equal, but he fell apart the 2nd half of the season. Tigers missed their opportunity to really cash in on him at the trade deadline.

I'll believe the Cubs trading Bryant when I see it. The other two are far more likely.

Or at least wait until he has a great injury free year so his value will be at it's highest. However, that's when no one will want to trade him.

Given his contract, like you said, it would be more valuable to keep him for what he can do.

What if he doesn't want to resign here? He's always been a Redsox fan.

+ 60 days. Us married men get way less actions after tying the knot. Just what the doctor ordered for Correa and astros fans.
