We have recruited like **** for the past 5yrs it was only a matter of time until the bottom fell out. I hate to see how bad we would be if Opie was still running the show.
Very likely. There were a lot of criticism from the media and a few players with the idea that UH was purposely having kids sit out to make a run for next year. My understanding is that UH never had that intention, that a couple players essentially said they were going to do it and Dana was put into a tough spot and figured the off chance that they would stay would outweigh just losing them. FWIW I am not so sure that King really is the best QB for what Dana wants to do. King can go to FSU with Briles or LSU or Alabama. Dana needs to get his recruits on the field and take control of the program.
King says no but I think he's gone. Granato is buddies with Holgorsen so take it for what it's worth:
Eh? Where did this come from? This timeline is so weird... King issues statement saying he is considering his future (transfer, redshirt, etc) King redshirts, says transfer was never an option (which is dumb considering he floated the idea of transferring) Story comes out that the Redshirt was Holgorsen's idea 6th Year Transfer OL blasts Holgo on Twitter for tanking (lending credence to the idea Holgo led the redshirt charge) after being dismissed from the team Now people are saying King is considering transferring again? What the hell is going on?
Wishful fans from other teams I guess? FSU would make sense I guess if Briles is still there. The other schools I'm not sure since I don't think he's an NFL prospect at QB.
OK, finally caught up. It's all unsourced BS from Thamel (a long time Houston hater). Nothing has changed. Moving on.
I can tell you that a lot of the higher end boosters and at least one regent thinks King will end up transferring. At this point I don't think anyone knows for sure. Dana even admitted as much. Everyone is so concerned about King, and while I think UH is better with him, I don't think he is a great fit with what Dana wants done.
When it was first announced he was sitting out, D'Eriq's dad said he was transferring. That's what has a lot of people thinking he's gone.
He’s gone. None of this redshirt stuff has ever made any sense. I’d be shocked if any of it was ever really true, but you never know I guess. We’ll all know soon enough.
If King is not coming back who is our QB next year? I am not convinced Clayton Tune is the answer.. A while back someone had mentioned we had a new QB that was really good coming next year. Anyone know who they may be referring to?
SMU, Tulane, and Navy are all key for us. Any given year where those 3 teams are good we will have a tough time because they're always going to be on our schedule. It's not unreasonable to think that all 3 of those programs could take serious steps backwards next season.
I expect the team next year to be very good and ranked for the second half of the season. There are a lot of very good players that are being added.
