He stole a BIG one from Lopez the other day. He definitely was stealing rebounds in OKC. What's he's doing here on the boards, so far, we actually need it and it's going to help us win.

I like now when WB gets or steal reabound , our offense can reach 5 sec meaning ( not 7 sec). Thats a big improvement.

The premise behind your argument doesn’t add up. Again, the Thunder coaching staff and players were quite open and on record about how they schemed and assisted Westbrook to get rebounds. And anyone watching the games could see he was camping in the lane to chase boards. The stats show this as well (#1 in uncontested shots).

It appears that you either aren’t aware of these things, that folks have noted multiple times, or are arguing just to argue.

This was the reasoning OKC used for scheming for him to get boards off FTs. However, their transition offense wasn’t that great that year, going off memory.

That may have been because they had poor shooters around him

We’d be so much better with Dwight than capela. Coulda got Dwight and traded capelas b****ass for Kevin love.

Helps with big depth and a floor spacer at the 5.

If we could give Dwight a brain transplant, yes

WB Rebound #9 of his trip-dub 10 (3 minutes left in game), stealing from Harden off a free-throw.

    :D:eek:

Or it may have been because he was an inefficient scorer that took most of the shots, and very turnover prone. He took as many shots as his 2nd and 3rd options combined that year, despite being an inefficient scorer.

But those other options weren't good shooters either. He's showing a willingness to pass to good shooters and take fewer jumpers

All the complaints? Do you speak for, and defend all the complaints salty Rockets fans posted about Westbrook over the last 3 years?

He was “clearly being assisted”, yet he averages the same amount of rebounds on an entirely different team. Interesting.

“Ignoring” defense? Yes, I deny that that happened, considering that rebounding is a major component and factor of.... DEFENSE. As are deflections and steals, which he has always grabbed a ton of.

Also, can you link me to where the coaching staff was purposefully telling players to funnel rebounds to Westbrook like you claim? Thx... :D

I’d love to see some practice footage of everyone attempting to tap the ball over to Westbrook. Come on man... NBA coaches do not actively plan for guys to not go after rebounds. That is absurd.

You point to Westbrook shot contests as If it is the end all, be all stat. It isn’t, there is a whole lot that goes into that, starting with Billy’s defensive schemes and how he wants to use Westbrook.

On this team his tenacious (ie stealing) rebounding is something this team desperately needs, so I’m more than pleased he is willing to do it !!

Oladipo, Kanter, Sabonis, Taj....all quality at putting the ball in the basket.

    1. It's two freaking games. Are you saying tat Harden is clearly a 23% shooter because he clearly is after two freaking games this season?

    2. If you are into small samples, let's look at this:
OKC was 2nd in rebounding last season. They are 3rd this season so far without Westbrook. Steven Adams's rebounding average has jumped from 9 per game with Westbrook to 11 per game without Westbrook. The Rockets on the other hand, ranked 22nd in rebounding so far. Westbrook's Rockets teammates have very few rebounds for him to steal from. I am glad that he is starting to steal from the other team's players.

Oladipo really got good after he left and still just a 35% career 3pt shooter. Kanter had to be benched for defense and can't shoot 3s. Taj can't shoot 3s. Sabonis barely shoots 3s.
