Vlade Divac is looking shrewder and shrewder every minute.

Or Buddy Hield really needs a new agent.

$29 million a year for Jaylen Brown??? Lol.

2 way wing players are a highly valued commodity in today's NBA. Sometimes you have to overpay to retain one. After the Harrison Barnes deal nothing surprises me.

    13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal - on 46/34/66 %

    Gets 29 mill per.

Is that basically a max? Wow...LeVert signed for less than half of that money.

I wonder if at this point they'll try to move Hayward since i don't think he'll opt out of that max next summer.

Guy still have potential, without Irving there's a good chance he'll do better and he's a good defender...but yeah, this looks like a big overpay as today.

I think it'll be worth it in the end but he has got to make a jump this year. He still has two-way star potential.

a completely average player who can't dribble the ball, gets paid 28 milion dollars on his first extension.

    Crazy.

And they still don't think they have made enough $ to speak about human rights.

What is wrong with Ainge and Masai? It seemed obvious they would have let those extensions roll over for next year..but all of a sudden they completed them out of character.

He didn't show any improvement from year 2 to year 3 (last season). I just don't see how it's justifiable, I would take the gamble of him making a lot less as a RFA next year, I never understand extensions like these, it uber high risk with very likely low reward

That's true but i'd say the same for Tatum, i think the Celtics were just not a good situation last season, and that probably didn't help the young guys to develop. But all things considered yeah, i don't disagree with you, it looks like a big overpay for a guy like Brown as today.

dont forget the well documented character problems.
It simply isn't like Ainge. He broke his pattern for what? Jaylen freaking Brown.

I think I have missed a very important detail that explains how two of the best GMs lost their mind this week and rushed into extensions.
    * This detail was also missed by Hield's agent

Can't wait for Billshit Simmons to passive aggressively tweet rockets shade when the Celtics do their annual race to disappointment.

I wonder if they told Ainge like "you either pay us or we're going to sign the qo"...then i can see Ainge being scared to death about losing an asset and give up. They better hope they guy gets better though, otherwise this could become another Wiggins kind of contract, even though at least Brown plays some defense.

If he is scared to death over losing a malcontent Jaylen Brown then maybe he needs to go on medication.

This is an albatross contract already right this second.
Many many things have to happen just for it NOT to be a top 20 worst contract in the league.

Brown better take a huge leap or this is a giant L for Ainge

Remember when Boston was supposed to be the next dynasty in the making with all this young talent and premium draft picks? Now they’re a middle of the pack EC team with zero shot at a title. U love to see it.
