Watch Vin Diesel Come Back to Life in ‘Bloodshot’ Trailer

The comic book movie is out in February

Vin Diesel is a new kind of superhero in Bloodshot, the latest comic book adaptation from Sony Pictures. In the violent first trailer for the movie, out February 21, 2020, Diesel stars as a soldier who gets rebuilt by a mysterious corporation after his death and seeks revenge. His character appears to be almost immortal, with his face being blown off and then rebuilt in the trailer.

Per the film’s official synopsis, Diesel stars as Ray Garrison, a soldier who is killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. The summary notes: “With an army of nanotechnology in his veins, he’s an unstoppable force — stronger than ever and able to heal instantly. But in controlling his body, the company has sway over his mind and memories, too. Now, Ray doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not — but he’s on a mission to find out.”

Guy Pearce, Eliza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan and Toby Kebbell also star in the movie, which is based on characters from the Valiant Comic Universe. Earlier this year, Diesel posted on Instagram that Ray is “one of the must complex characters I have been fortunate enough to play.” The film was directed by Dave Wilson and written by Eric Heisserer (Arrival) and Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare).a

With out the Pale Skin . . . it does kind of takes some of the energy away
The Back Story seems more Deathlok than Bloodshot that I remember but I could be wrong.

    I will check it out

I'm not a fan of Fast/Furious, but I've enjoyed some of his other projects. The Riddick series is good fun, and I did like The Last Witch Hunter. So I'll probably give this a look.

Was stoked when I saw the trailer for this in the morning. I was more of Valiant fan than Marvel back in the early 90s. Harbinger next please.

2:12 in the trailer seemed to have the pale skin.

Its interesting how loudly they as screaming "BASED ON THE COMIC BOOK".

10 to 20 years ago, movies would come and go and only after the fact would I learn that they were based on a comic book - like they were concerned it would hurt box office.

I guess that has definitively flipped, where "based on a comic book" is now a selling point instead of a dirty little secret.

I really think H.A.R.D.Corps was my favorite.
I loved the concept and implementation .

Harbinger and Bloodshot were in the mix though

The Face blasting scene is a cool effect

This is supposedly the worst movie weekend in twenty years.

Sure, the RT scores for this movie suck, but would have liked to see it in the big screen. No chance that I'd go to the movies for some time now.

The Covid19 situation has possibly effed up the Valiant Universe getting a good start with the promise of more Valiant Universe movies in the pipeline, but again... seeing the reviews, Bloodshot didn't do itself any favors. For a long while in the early 90s, I preferred Valiant over Marvel. Oh well... sigh.

From the looks of the trailer, I believe so.

That first issue with the chromium cover was niiiice. Several Valiant issues had those kinda covers back then though... X-O #0, Turok #1, etc...

Since I posted that, I actually remember that my favorite comic was Warriors of Plasm. Then I realized that defiant comics went belly up.

Forgot about this... Jim Shooters' baby. Have the first issue likely at my folks place. I didn't really get into it for some reason and stopped there.
