I think it is time to sit Alvarez and try Diaz as the DH.

    "What's a bunt?" ~ Major League players

"Oh, it's that thing you do to move runners into scoring position and make the infielders play non-optimal positions and generally give yourself a variety of different tools to score runs more easily." ~ Little leaguers

Chirinos for the rest of the playoffs shouldn't automatically get the bulk of the playing time at catcher. He's awful. With other struggle hitters in the lineup as well, can't afford to have Chirinos out there especially when Maldanado is a better option at this point.

This is not a horrible idea. Would have been a great thing to do against Paxton today.

Maldonado is not necessarily a better option. At anything.

Machete catches Cole. Don't mess with the P/C dynamic in the ALCS, please.

Chirinos has been beyond terrible in this series at the plate. Dude can't even make contact with fastball. I'd almost rather have a pitcher hitting at this point.

This postseason he's looked way better at hitting and behind the plate honestly

Respect to Gardner for not pretending he was safe on that groundout.

chirinos is also doing a trash job at framing pitches.. our pitchers keep losing strike calls bc chirinos feet keeps sliding all over behind the plate

You want to mix up JV and Cole and Greinke and whoever's catcher because the #8 hitter in the lineup might hit a bit better?

Maldonado catches Cole. Chirinos catches JV and Greinke. Why would you change that?

Take out Verlander now ? So you can have him pitch a few in game 7 if needed

With Paxton around 80 pitches, facing the top of the order for a third time, this feels like the inning to turn the game around.

Maldy has caught those guys too. Chirinos is just so bad right now, just don't think he should keep automatically getting starts being this bad. Has he even got a hit this series?
