And can't punish a catcher for moving his glove(announcers said that might have cost Greinke a strike). I've never umped before. When the catcher has his glove set and then moves and up without framing the pitch, does it actually make the pitch location look different?

Bad move here. ZG is pitching well. At least bring in Harris if anybody.

Hinch showing a lot of trust in the struggling Pressly here. Hasn't he given up at least a run every appearance this postseason?

Maybe the moving up the glove up towards the Ump's head causes him to blink or shift his head as natural reaction. So you assume it missed high since you couldn't see the actual pitch. I doubt an ump would admit to that though.

This move to Pressly may work, but man does it feel wrong.

I mean over the history of baseball, any baseball, you'll probably not get a strike call on a corner if the catcher has to move his glove too much, regardless of whether it was an objective strike. However, until recently I'd never seen a pitch right down the middle of the strike zone called a ball. I've seen it twice in these playoffs, and I think just in this ALCS alone. Twice. During the playoffs.

These umps aren't even trying to make a case that we shouldn't replace them with robots.
