It's sad that LeYuan would post the worlds of MLK and then say the exact opposite over a few yuan.

Silver is still a slimy snake. I'm sure there were other factors preventing Silver from firing Morey, namely the huge PR backlash it would cause.

How did the world get to a point where Kendrick Perkins is being quoted / shared?

There are many problems with this (attempted) argument:

    1. Who is qualified to make the statement Morey has "never said anything for his own country"? What does that mean? The dude has participated in a ton of charity work and is a pretty prolific tweeter who has quoted republicans and democrats alike. Do you think Perkins would want to get into a battle with Morey over who has influenced more people positively? And regardless of who won, would it have any effect on the validity of a tweet?

    2. This idea that you can't speak about a foreign country until we live in a utopia just doesn't make sense. It's a strawman to stoke our outrage culture.

    3. We're super progressive and care about "lives matter" and what not until it's someone else's lives and our dollars. #Merica

    Outrage culture FTW!

Here's a solid, balanced take from an African-American writer whose money isn't at stake.

It took two weeks of public outcry for Silver to finally say this. Anyone with any conviction would have defended Morey the moment he sent his tweet.

Boohoo Lebron had a tough week...these guys really need perspective. Glad he gets blasted on twitter for his hypocrisy, cowardice and delusional statements.

    Rather not.

He is pretty bad at that.

    Which begs the question.

What is he good at other than dismantling a NBA dynasty as long as he gets paid?

He’s charming as a commentator but obviously he has his limits.

The players don’t know much about anything outside their experience, just as we Asians don’t really appreciate the plight of minorities in the US. Asking them to weigh in is pretty tough.

wait what? Asians are the minorities in the US, how would asking that group to weigh in is wrong?

Asians not living in America (clarification). Should apply to most people not living in America.

As a Hongkonger, we witnessed people losing their jobs, their immediate family being harrassed or even physically assaulted just because they expressed their criticisms on China or merely supported free elections on social media. NBA simply cannot succumb to this evil regime.

Totalitarian regimes operate on this Level of extreme. The irony is none of us could have guessed how restrictive they were before this, so if this is what they do to a us citizen in America...how is it for Chinese in China.
im glad he said this, but I’m also very surprised at how gullible people are. This is primarily lip service and should have been common sense from the start. The support for morey amongst fans/general public is close to a 100%. Silver now realizes this, but he was clearly distancing the league and himself from morey at the beginning

... and so what? He was on point whether your drunk or not. Like Clutch said, if the Chinese government hadn't made a big deal out of it, it wouldn't had escalated like it did! Now, more people are aware of the HK issues against the Chinese government.
