That is Cummings on the ground in Selma as a protester.

I didn't agree with everything the man said, but he certainly was someone that really lived how he preached.

Yep. He didn't just talk the talk. He walked the walk.

He hadn't looked well lately, using the walker to get into the House chambers, but wasn't expecting this. Maybe we never are.

R.I.P. We lose a Congressperson with some semblance of dignity.

If you're talking about the man on the ground on the right side of the picture I believe that's actually John Lewis.

    RIP Elijah

The special primary election must be held on a Tuesday at least 65 days after the governor's proclamation. Then, the special general election must be held on a Tuesday at least 65 days after that.

That means Cummings' replacement will be elected no earlier than March 2020.

It's not yet clear when a special election will take place, a spokesman for Hogan told The Baltimore Sun. His office did not immediately respond to an inquiry by News4.

Cummings also will be replaced as chair of the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York is next in seniority.

I apologize if I am wrong. I remember in college we were told it was Elijah Cummings.

John Lewis is obviously a titan in civil rights in the USA.

Strangely I was just talking to a friend about this very thing. He said he thought Cummings was at that march in Selma and I told him I thought it was John Lewis.

There is no way in HELL that Donald Trump can tell the difference....

I did a google search to see if they really do look that alike.... from far away I could see making a mistake.

However they apparently are not the only ones...... here are other congressmen that apparently are often confused...

    https://www.mysanantonio.com/sports...-slams-Trump-after-preseason-win-14546384.php

After fielding a few questions about the Spurs’ 104-91 win and the preseason in general, Popovich, unsolicited, turned his attention to the Republican president without using his name.

“The thing that is most noticeable isn’t really basketball,” Popovich said. “It’s the absolute. ineptness and lack of understanding in our country for having any notion of conducting oneself for the good of the country.”

Angered by what he called the “events” of this week, Popovich also criticized Trump’s supporters, presumably meaning Republican lawmakers.

“The people who really anger you are the people who don’t speak out,” Popovich said. “And they knew it during the primary and they really know it now. We have a few people who are figuring it out. But too many are concerned about themselves than how embarrassed our country is when all these shenanigans going on.”

Popovich also drew a comparison between Trump and late Democratic Rep. and civil rights champion Elijah Cummings, who died Thursday of complications from longstanding health problem.

“…When we lose people like Elijah Cummings, it hurts a lot,” Popovich said. “He (cared) about the country. Nothing he did was for himself. Nothing he did was for politicians. Nothing he did was for money. It was for our country and other people. Wouldn’t it be great to have it again, especially from the top? It’s really disgusting.”

I didn't notice Trump at the services -- is he not attending?

It's in everyone's best interest for him not to.
