This game really doesn't matter in all honesty.

The reality is Houston is built to play their best ball late season due to age, lack of depth, and guys playing out of position.

 

going to be a long season with Westbrook and the Morey hangover

 

1. Outside of Harden, Gordon and Clemons no one really looked good.
2. 2. Russ got into early foul trouble had no rhythm all night
3. Clint was slow all night
4. Defense was atrocious all night
5. Lack of size was telling especially on the glass chandler will fix some of that

Overall it’s a preseason game but you would think with the real season only a week away they would be better

 

totally. Got his money and now just going to enjoy with $10 millions. Lazy bum

 

I don't see how Westbrook can work unless our coaching staff sits him down and tells him to take smart shots. I mean, literally he needs a basic sitdown on how he needs to take shots where his shoulders are squared towards the basket, where he isn't leaning or fading in any direction, where he isn't shooting off a running jump.

Westbrook takes the worst shots imaginable. I've been paying attention, on his 3's where he's doing an actual squared up plain catch and shoot, he's actually hitting them!!

This team looks like it has a ton of problems, but dear god if we don't stop WB's ridiculously bad shot selection we're doomed.

Westbrook takes Kobe shots without the Kobe skills.

 

If we are playing like this in February then I will worry, but for now I'm cool. It's going to take a couple months before we gel. It always does. I expect to see us get better and better. Its going to be a good year. I feel it.

 

I would hope they would start to show they give a **** about getting some chemistry with Westbrook. They looked like they had all eaten chicken fried steak with extra cream gravy for dinner. Playing basketball with a case of the B.G.’s. Bubble guts.

In any case, pre-season.

EDIT. Why such disdain for acquiring a power forward taller than 6’6”?

 

Yeah not a great game let's say...it's just preseason etc, both defense and offense were trash but i expect those to get better, the only thing i'm worried about is if James and Russ will find a way to play well together like James and CP3 did, otherwise we're going nowhere, it's that simple.

 

Westbrook's numbers last season begs me to differ from Dantoni's opinion that we shouldn't worry about Westbrook.

 

I'd trade all our centers (and especially Anderson) for one Poeltl.

 

This is what a lot of you wanted so deal with it. Westbrook is our guy now. Lets see what happens when the season starts. God, Im hoping the defense gets better.

look on the bright side, the team looked like there's so much more chemistry and love, having fun together at camp and on the trip. definitely translated to the games so far. all the clips on twitter are looking good

 

when it’s just Harden out there - team looks good...they already know how to operate in an offense catered around him so everything is natural

when it’s just Westbrook out there - meh...he’s able to penetrate and dish...we haven’t seen him finish with ferocity at the rim yet...I wonder if he’s in game shape after only recently being cleared to do 5 on 5 after a summer of recovering from surgery

when Harden and Russ are both out there - terrible...Harden is handling the ball the vast majority of the time while Russ is off-ball doing very little playmaking and not spacing the floor since he can’t shoot

Russ looks rusty as hell...a lot of his passes are awful...they’re not on point at all whether it’s a lob or a kick to the corner...his handle also looks sloppy
