    Objection: false equivalency.

NBA players have a persecution complex.

The "correct political" opinion is no political opinion, because it alienates on both sides.

As much good publicity speaking out against Trump does for left leaning people, it cancels out because of the backlash and criticism from right leaning people as well.

When you promote yourself as a "values based organization", you cant punish people because they promote human rights. So the players that want Morey punished don't understand the domestic implications from punishing Morey.

There may be 2 sides, but 1 side spends a lot more money.

Definitely don't envy the players put under the spotlight.

You answer that you side with Morey? China hates you.
You answer that you don't side with Morey? USA hates you.

You plead the 5th or don't lean one way or the other? You look like an ignorant person who either doesn't care about the state of politics or are above the issue.

Their point is only somewhat correct

If a player makes that comment they are likely cut if they are a scrub

No one who is integral to the W's like LeBron is getting reprimanded

At least five NBA teams are having their salary cap personnel plan for a scenario in which the cap for the 2020-21 season could drop between 10 and 15 percent due to the current situation between the NBA and China, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Doubt that tweet cost the NBA anything. No company cancelled their business relationship with the NBA because of the tweet. Also a very large chunk of diehard Trump supporters would never watch the NBA to begin with.

Why does no one else see the OBVIOUS conflict in interest with the Nets stance on Morey? Joseph Tsai(the new Nets owner) is in bed with the Chinese government because he made his fortune through Alibaba - Tsai now owns an NBA team and both him AND the Chinese government probably would prefer to see NBA revenue from China routed to "their guys" rather than to Houston/Tillman Fertita.

I'm honestly shocked this hasn't been mentioned anywhere else yet. Given the money Houston has made as the unofficial NBA team of China, it's clearly in Tsai's best interest to paint Houston as "anti-Chinese culture" because he is probably aiming to replace them as the unofficial favorite team of China. This story is about nothing more than a rich man seeing a cultural situation he thinks he can exploit for profit and diving right in. Maybe he even feels entitled to that money by some birth right - whatever the reason, that is why this story became such a "big deal" yet the only people who seemed to care where Tsai and Chinese government. The whole "you have offended the entire country" thing is a propaganda thing to paint this as a sensitive cultural issue(hard to take sides) rather than a fairly cut and dry story of someone expressing sympathy and support for protestors being beaten in the street.

You're right, now, if Morey gets to be a reality TV star he then can talk about politics all he wants. Maybe he can then spew racist crap and corrupt an entire American party for his own whims. But until then, stick to basketball.

And there is a very large chunk of domestic veiwers who don't care about this China **** at all, but there would def be a backlash in America [from the left] if the NBA sided with communist China over a GM speaking up for human rights.

And the NBA still has a significant percentage of Trump supporters. Just look at the D&D. ;)

If this is what players think, I wonder how that affects the agents and if they want to play for the Rockets should the opportunity presents itself in the future. smh. Nobody was messing with the Rockets in the first place. oh boy. Trade deadline is going to be ass! hopefully the Rockets are in first place.

Lets be honest though, they are mad because Morey screwed up their money in China. They don't care about what the NBA lost.
