Bump that. I agree with your post 100% but I'm really tired of hearing about Mahomes poor little ankle as if players haven't had to play through sprain ankles ever before.

QBs, since the position is so vital, have to play through most pain and injuries where a RB can afford to just sit out a week or so or whatever, Mahomes is going to have to learn how to play QB when he can't be mobile, as all mobile QBs had to learn.

If an ankle affects him this much we are going to see players target it in big games knowing how much it affects his play.

I'm not really attacking your post, just venting because all I hear today is about how Mahomes is hurt. Max was even saying that Mahomes really didn't throw an INT and Watson really didn't outduel him because Watson threw two INTs and Mahomes threw 0. Yes. Max is literally denying reality to follow his Mahomes narrative that Mahomes is basically the best player to ever play the game...

Anyone that actually watched that game knows Mahomes INT hurt more than Watson's INTs. One of those INTs, the one right before the half, actually HELPED the Texans field position wise since it was a 4th down play, that INT literally worked as a punt.

Anyone that watched that game knows that Mahomes had multiple tries to take the lead there, the fact that he didn't get the ball much is irrelevant, he got the ball enough. That's what I saw.

For one, don’t listen to Max Kellerman, he’s trying to get clicks by being ‘controversial’. And I agree 100% about how everyone is trying to make excuses for Mahomes, but his plant ankle does have a major affect on his throwing. However a hobbled Mahomes is better than 85% of the NFL so either way still very encouraging that the secondary played so well.

Those unnecessary penalties gotta get cleaned up by the secondary. The only thing JJo lost is his speed (which is a lot for a CB) but he still has better discipline and technique.

Watson has the potential to be like Tom Brady at reading defenses. You’ve seen how he speaks to the reporters after the game about Xs and Os. He also has the clutch and leadership intangibles that Brady has.

Imagine a more athletic Brady

    watson has that upside

Mahommes deserves the excuses as much as Watson deserved them last year with rib injury, bad o-line, and injured WRs. Still went 11-5 and never lost a game by more than one score (not counting the playoff loss)

Vandamir's take that winning @ Indy for the first time is a bigger win than yesterday is as suckass as his broadcast skills. Should've been fired long ago. Rock & Roll

    Lol

Big picture. Defeating a big division foe is always going to count more.

A few dropped passes and 50-50 plays and the score could've been a lot different. I'm impressed even though Mahomes wasn't 100%.

Not when you're a marginal team and said foe is a marginal too.

Texans weren't going anywhere with that little win. Beating KC might actually mean something.

Division wins still count more. Beating Indy helped them win the division that year. Plus its something they had NEVER done. Texans have beaten KC before. Yesterday's game was like when Schaub beat the Broncos or when Case beat the Ravens. Big win against a very good team in the regular season. If it helps them get a playoff bye then...maybe it's a bigger deal.

Enjoy your division wins during mediocre seasons.

And a week 6 win against a non-division foe will get you championships. Makes sense.

    Stop downplaying the win.

It's not just a non-division foe. Chiefs are the #2 seed and have been good for years. Beating them on the road bodes far better for championships than a marginal team beating another marginal division opponent.

Texans have won several division championships yet they can't beat the New England's. No surprise they've never sniffed a CF, much less an SB.

I didn't say it wasn't important. It is big. But I understand why someone would think the first win ever against Indy, a big division foe, much later in the season was bigger.
