1) we have the best two pitchers on earth pitching the next 2 games 2) all teams go through offensive slumps like the one we are in for short periods, it just isn’t noticed in the middle of a 162 game season. We have a historically good offense 3) this thread makes we want to root against the Texans today for some reason
I remember a couple years ago when Houston scored 4 or 5 runs through 3 games and 9 through 5 games against the Yankees. Then 11 over the final 2. Offense will find its rhythm, but also Tanaka was pretty damn filthy tonight. With 5 of the next 6 going through Cole, JV, and Greinke, I’m not losing too much sleep yet. All the chicken littles talking about a disaster of a season can go pound dirt. Three games separated us from NYY, give me a break.
In the depths of despair and putting out zero runs my better half and I just you tubed The Cars “Drive” to feel better......then we ran across all the great “hits”......RIP Ric
No....it's not. Wait, are you the one with Dallas-envy? How Dallas is so much better than Houston? Get the **** out. Go watch the Cowboys....better yet...the Rangers.
The Astros' hitting will fix itself long before your stupidity goes away, so I do think he's trying to address the bigger yet impossible problem.
21-0 to 21-7 is not a blowout ?!! Some people will say anything to avoid acknowledging they are wrong. Funny, but grow a pair.
We had weeklong offensive slumps all year, we'd come out if it and win by huge margins. This one is just at the worst possible time...... Let's hope last night was the end of it.
Some people are really underestimating how good the Yankees are. We were only #1 over them by a couple of games. If we lose the series in 7 to them, I wouldn't be disappointed. If we lose 4-0 or 4-1, then yes..especially not scoring runs like yesterday. But I am hopeful we can turn it around and win in 7.
This is the second straight post season we ge through an offensive slump. Astros offense giving me playoff Beard vibes lately. Works wonders in regular season then stifled in the post season by better teams.
This just doesn't give me any comfort. Every Yankees starter has an ERA close to 4 and they murdered the twins. Tanaka is just a great post season pitcher.
This is a key idea. Some guys are post season guys and some are not. As an example, Kershaw is not. Great pitcher, but cant get it done in the playoffs. Altuve and Bregman ARE post season guys. Everyone else on offense are below a .714 OPS this year for the playoffs. Springer usually is a post season guy, but so far, not this year. Granted, their are some guys on the fence. The post season is in part thought of as a new season for this reason. Some guys thrive, others fail often.
