I was there 3 years ago. Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, Hutong, Summer Palace, Lama Temple (especially loved this). Be ready to walk a lot if you visit any of these sites. Also as Rockbox mentioned, the markets.

A lot of prostitutes in Beijing. Lots of Chinese and Russian girls everywhere.

You can visit Tiananman Square... The Forbidden City.... The Lama Temple.... The Great Wall.... Chinese prostitutes..... visit the old markets.

Be careful with your food choices as China hasn’t caught up to the West on pest control enforcement and avoid fried food in poorer areas.

Ask your hotel if they carry the NBA on the TV in your room.

How about paint murals of Rockets players in the Shanghai Sharks gym? I hear they need them.

Sorry, I’ve got nothing. Have fun, be careful.

There's no way you are getting through security with a Panda. Tried it. They threw me against a wall at the airport. Was sentenced to dress as a panda and walk among them. Here is the video in 3D.

best decision even without the rockets debacle. japan, taiwan, singapore, malaysia, thailand, vietnam, philippines, macao. hongkong, other south east asian countries are better destinations anyway

yup. op should make sure not to go to the major cities tho, they have very little to offer. my japanese colleagues say tokyo is expensive and best to go to other cities.
