Not a trek tv hardcore fan, but casual watcher of the picard series, and think the trailer was very good for a TV trailer. If it's not free I will never see it, but the story looks compelling. The challenge will be that he is really old now.

It's definitely going to be hard to not sign up for All-Access after watching that trailer. I'm much much more interested now.

Looks fantastic. I had no idea Seven of Nine was involved in this, really excited about that

I wasn't sold on the first trailer - since it didn't really show anything - but this looks great.
Will definitely watch the crap out of it.

Still don't know why there isn't much legit good space sci-fi.

    Though The Expanse is fantanstic.

I’m psyched. Season 3 might have been my favorite thing to watch in the last year. Which doesn’t necessarily mean the best show ... I recognize there are flaws... but the oneness I enjoyed the most, and also it does rank up there a s one of the best.

The trailer seems to be really pushing the original cast being in the show but I'm sure those are all just one scene each. Nothing about the actual show and Brent just looks way too bloated to be Data.

Also, data got blowed up in the crappy movies.

There is another trailer with Data chopped up into components and Picard days something like "he gave his life for me" so I'm pretty sure it is only dream-sequence Data. I think the original #2 has already said it's just a cameo. Maybe more of a role for doggo #2.

My understanding is seven of nine's role comprises 'an arc' and they are already talking with her about season two, which is odd as season one hasn't happened yet.

I keep trying to walk away from yet another "pay for access" streaming channel, and they keep pulling me back in.

How can I not watch this? Damn them!

Before Data got blown up in the movie, he had transferred his memory into his sibling robot's (Lore?) memory banks. They weren't sure it was going to take at the time. I think they were trying to revive that robot and this was the way they chose to do that. Then, at the very end of the movie after Data was blown up, Picard was talking to the sibling robot and the robot seemed clueless. But, as Picard left the room, the robot started singing a song that the real Data used to sing. This is when Picard knew that the memory transfer had worked and there was hope Data could come back (or, resurrect) in the new robot hardware.

So, if that's not Data in a new robot shell in this new series (versus some dream sequence of old Data), then they chose to go in a different direction from the implied ending of that film that Data lived.

I'm sure it is a borg arc. Picard and Seven were the characters most impacted by the Borg

20 yrs later, it's Big Data.

It's probably a dream or hologram. Bringing back Data in the future could be a storyline.

Great to see the Knicks legend, and Rockets assistant coaching legend, back on the screen. But where does he find time to film a TV show while coaching?

What would you compare this show to? I'm a sci-fi junkie, but have never heard of it.
