Avengers: End Game 8/10 Was a little too long but was a quality movie (do agree with others that Infinity War was a better movie)

As people are talking about TV series, hope lots of you are watching Succession on HBO...so good

Funny you mentioned Justified, a friend of mine has been telling me that same thing for a while. It's on my list!

The Sandlot - I'm a sucker for a good 'coming of age' nostalgia movie that brings back awesome memories of my childhood.....but this one seemed a little forced to me. Not nearly as good as Stand By Me.

Re-watched the Kingdom of Heaven director's cut late last night (took a poorly-timed nap in the afternoon, which always screws up my sleep schedule) and then had ridiculously vivid dreams about castles and sieges and cavalry and knights and also the Middle Ages. It was wild. 8/10

    Shazam 7/10

While there are some fun moments, I never felt like the Shazam character represented the teen character. Both were individually interesting, but nothing Shazam did remotely reflected the teen in angst. So while it wanted to be BIG, it wasn't. That ended up being ok. Just saying. There were a few good laughs and everyone was likeable, especially the big "little" sister.

I got roped in by the ads here at Clutchfans. Thanks Clutch.
    4/10

Not the worst movie. If you have a daughter, you might have them watch this to keep them away from a life of prostitution.

No no no. It's a cautionary tale. Turns out prostitution isn't as exciting and glamorous as you might think.

    Dark Phoenix - 3/10
Half baked remake with half baked villains. Not sure why they bothered other than to get one last one in. Big stinker.

    So long Fox.

The movie wasn't horrible. But there really wasn't even a villain. Especially lame on that front. They mostly used Jean Grey/Phoenix as the big fight scenes.

OK. It was pretty horrible I guess.

Cargo (Netflix) - not your typical zombie outbreak movie. Australian flick, Martin Freeman is awesome.

Saw The Big Easy again the other night on one of the streaming channels, uncut (as all films should be). I hadn't seen it in years. Just a great flick. Dennis Quaid was young and looking his best (my significant other was swooning over him, "I forgot how sexy he was in 1988!"), and perfect as the young Cajun homicide detective in the New Orleans PD with a touch of corruption, who's late father was corrupt up to his neck, and falls for the hot Ellen Barkin, also in her prime, who's investigating corruption in NOLA, very befuddled when he comes on to her, strong. It was beautifully filmed in New Orleans and the area, way before Katrina messed up so much of it, and the direction is excellent. If it's been a really long time since you've seen it (or managed not to), I don't remember where we saw the film, but do a search and don't miss it!

A bit of irony? The production was given a lot of help by the Louisiana Film Commission. After production ended, the commission was charged with corruption! That's the Louisiana we know and love. ;-)

    "Mid 90's" 4/10.
With my kid in town the whole summer and turning 13 in oct, I made it a point to watch a lot of the coming of age genre, new and old.
This one is from last year written and directed by skinny Jonah Hill. Only one likable character, Ray the black amigo and skateboarding savant. Everyone else probably grew up to be serial killers.

finally watched the new IT the other night

    7/10

the jump scares were predictable because it seemed to play the creepy music right before each of em.

still good effects and some of the lines by the kids cracked me up.
